The Miracle of Castel Di Sangro
Story about a small Italian side which started at the lowest levels of the Italian league pyramid and rapidly made it up to Serie B. The book is written by a journalist/writer who live in the town through its first season in Serie B. It was a good read, some funny/sad moments, and contained numerous examples of random corruption that one now sees destroying the Italian game. A great read.

I can make out Howard Dean, Al Sharpton, Wacko Jacko, Eminem, Ted Kennedy (?), and Barbra Streisand. I take it this book isn't too kind to those of the liberal persuasion.
I do remember the author being on The Daily Show right after the book was released and Jon Stewart ripping him a new one. So yeah, you're probably right. ;)

The Miracle of Castel Di Sangro
Been meaning to pick that one up. Actually books about lower division football in general... they appeal to me. Tough to find them here though.

I hear ya. Good football literature is hard to find in St. Louis, most of the stuff you get here is just hooligan nonsense and 100 copies of Fever Pitch.
I actually got The Miracle of Castel di Sangro at Barnes and Nobles of all places.

A random book I got today.
It's called Match Day. It's a collection of football programmes from 100's of English teams over the last 70 years. It's got some great art in it, and good writing. Very enjoyable.

Hah! I bought that a few months ago as well. I figured I'd be the only person in this country interested in random post-war, pre-Premiership football programmes from English football's various divisions. Kudos to you.

will do. i'm about 50 pages in. it can be rather intimidating with all the stats and stuff (i pretty much sucked up Stats in college) but since it is about baseball I'm chugging through it. some interesting arguements.

Yeah, I read about it in an issue of 4-4-2 awhile back. Stuff like this is very interesting to me, and I am enjoying the book. While seeing all the covers is nice, especially some of the United ones, I'd really like to see inside them. Ebay has a decent selection of programmes, I may poke around and buy a few.

I've read a bunch of Coben's books and most are very good and suspenseful. This one was making me wish the flight was just a bit longer.

Picked this up in Manchester on the recommendation of a supporter that owned a small shop. He said it was the best book he has read concerning United...

You're an absolute dumbass. I'm not offended or anything, it would take a lot more to push me over that edge, but you're just a moron is all I'm saying.
