It's my brother's book. He studies Russian history/culture but when I have time I always read it. (always ends up being in the summer) It's a big book by the way but also a fantastic read.

Can your brother speak Russian?

We by Yevgeny Zamyatin. I completely refuse to read anything that is not dystopian. Unless it involves eating babies, looking in your direction Mr. Swift.

The Firm by John Grisham.

Re-read The Partner last week... excellent book.

I've read a lot recently and can't remember the title of the book I'm currently reading... must remember to post.

I know this is an embarrassing question, being from Mississippi and especially MSU but, are Grisham's books interrelated in any way?

Also, what did you think about the Firm? It's decent so far I'm slightly confused right now, but I guess thats the point.. a little mystery.

Does it mean you don't read all that much or you like rereading Orwell, Huxley, Bradbury, etc.? ;)

lol. i can't really read recreationally during the school year for obvious reasons so i just stick to reading during breaks and such. I never read any of the classic dystopians till about a year ago so i still am reading them for the first time. For the record I would reread any of them though. :)

I'm about halfway through this. First there were genies everywhere, now everyone's getting mutilated.

I do usually read non-work stuff before bed, and reading this is absolutely killing me. (The whole frame of this story is the narrator is intentionally telling cliffhangers). I can never get to sleep!

I also recently finished
http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/0425152251.03.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

The story is pretty poor, but it basically serves as a background to a simplified history of philosophy, which are excellent parts of the book. I quasi-recommend this. It would probably be ideal for people who have had no exposure to philosophy or want a light review, and/or who are younger teenagers. Definitely not very heady; if you want to know the simplified difference between Plato and Aristotle in 3 pages and in plain english, for example, this might be worth a read.

Which one is the cliffhanger, the Arabian nights?

Which one is the cliffhanger, the Arabian nights?Ya. It's Scheherazade telling the stories to her husband. He had been marrying a new woman every night and killing her in the morning, so Scheherazade decides to tell him a story on their wedding night, and makes the cliffhanger so compelling that he keeps her alive to continue the story the next night. Apparently, this continues for the next 1001 nights. :) But honestly, they're not THAT compelling.

So recommend after I finish my Grisham (will be soon I'm about half way through) or not worth the time?
