By the way, VR would you recommend the Yiddish Policeman's Unit?

I enjoyed it a lot for two reasons. One, I am a fan of Chabon. Two, I am interested in Jewish mythology. I definitely recommend it.

Finally finished reading "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khalid Hosseini. Very good read; while I found "The Kite Runner" a better read, this has more memorable characters.

Has anyone read Erich Van Daniken's Chariots of the Gods? Thinking about checking it out, seems very interesting.

David Simon - Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets

It's by the guy who created The Wire, written back in 1991. Follows the Baltimore Homicide Department around for a year (1988 I thin) and writes about it. It's a helluva book so far, and the best part is that you can see the characters of The Wire in this, where Simon gets his influences. Hell, some of the names aren't even changed - Vernon Holley and Jay Landsmann are real people.

Great book so far.
