The Thorn Birds ?!..:D It happens to be my mother's favourite book..I always thought it was more for the ladies.
I had no clue about that:o. It is a pretty decent read to be honest though a bit ridiculous which can be excused because of the times it was written in. i am anyways a sucker for novels(series) which span generations and a long timeperiod.

Yeah I like those books..called 'saga's'.I would recommend Cynthia Harrod-Eagles with the Morland dynasty. It is more than twenty books and the date is between 1430c-present day but they are very good books with historical events woven into the lives of the fictional characters.
You should watch the drama...

I ordered "Busby Babes: Men of Magic" from Amazon a while ago. It was supposed to come out this past Tuesday but instead they sent me an email telling me they couldn't locate it. I cancelled my order.
Anyhow, I think NM brought this book up first and I was wondering if he put in a pre-order as well and what happened with that. Anyways....

A very good book that! I gave a Leeds fan that for his birthday and I believe they want to make it into a film/drama.

Supposed to be one of the best books about footy tactics, etc. The author is actually a journo at the Guardian, he's usually around for Football Weekly if you listen to that podcast.

I'd planned to order that when he mentioned it on the pod last season. Let me know how it is.
Also I see there's a new printing of one of my faves, Brilliant Orange. That one was almost impossible to find in the States for a while.

Shall do. Now that you mention Brilliant Orange, I may grab that as well. Keep hearing that it's one of the best footy books of all time.
