I saw a book by David Hall called 'How the Munich air crash broke the heart of a great city' on the shelves yesterday but I did not buy it as (I am trying to save.)
Has anyone read it and if so is it any good? (I may well buy it)

I finished 'Gone Fishin' and read the second book called 'The devil in the blue dress'. The second one is a great book for anyone looking for a bit of light reading.

Looks interesting, might need to read the back and then pocket it like passer-byers wallets.
It's been good so far. It's a conservative Brit author, so I didn't agree with much at first. However, she does explain alot of what I'd call "minority victimization", where a religion such as Islam tries to legitimize violence by amplifying incidents of little importance (Rushdie, the Danish cartoons) into events they spin as hateful, against religion.
Also goes along way in explaining why, for reasons of political correctness, politicans and intelligentsia rush to absolve Islam of blame after terrorist incidents, etc. instead of calling out the extreme forms of the religion for what they are.

Funny that you bought that because there was extractions from that book in the Daily Mail and basically it is the different accounts by the survivors ie Viollet, Charlton etc.
I may be so nice to quote a little of it if you wish and ask nicely.

I just finished the first four volumes of A Song of Ice and Fire. Anyone else here involved with the doings in Westeros?

I read the first 3 novels, but then took a break. I may actually have to go back and reread them before continuing with "A Feast For Crows". They have a good storyline, and if you like them, I highly suggest Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series.

Currently reading Venaktesh's Gang Leader for A Day

It's a book about an economics student who lived with, observed, even partially participated in a Chicago crack dealer's operations for 6 years. His data was used in Freakonomics, but it was just one of many stories in that book. This book is just about Venkatesh's story.

The fifth book is supposed to come out this Fall, so you better get on it.

I read the "The Kite Runner" and "The Thorn Birds" recently. I would recommend both books, especially the former which is a brilliant read.
