Not that any of you are going to be able to see this on replay on your local cable access channel, but Connecticut Academica pounded the Western Mass Twisters 23-14.
Frank Vigliotti had a hat-trick in the win, including a massive 3-point blast to put the game out of reach. Also scoring was former Connecticut Wolves, and D3 rookie of the year Carlos Sousa, who tallied two goals, one with shear brilliance, Wolves squad player Eric DaCosta had a 3-pointer as well. Sammy Lopes was all over the place and had a great all-around game, but best he could do was 2 assists and crushing a post.
Former New Hampshire Phantom Mike Kulas also added a 3-pointer, and Shahaab Langroudi, Duncan Bray, and Joe Mendoca rounded out the scoring.
The crowd at the Sports Domain in Winsted had to be over 500 and probably close to 600. Not bad for a wet Saturday night, 35 miles from Hartford.
