I cannot wait for this game.
Me neither.
I think Garcia starts, whether its in the midfield or up front. He is awesome in European games. Plus, he is well rested.

This will be a tough one in Benfica but i think we can come away with a win after our utd victory. If we play our game and control midfield and get a bit of lucky our way i don't see why not. I don't think this game is being televised is it ? Let me know if it is as i need to skive off of work early.

This is another tricky fixture. There is likely to be more space and time than in the Premiership, so I hope our strikers deliver. An away goal (and a clean sheet) will do nicely but Benfica showed by qualifying for this stage that they wil be noone's pushover. Plus, they have a great history in the European Cup.

Plus, they have a great history in the European Cup.They do have to come at us on their home ground. So, like you said an away goal for us and a clean sheet (Not too much to ask from our strikers, is it! :) ) Will make them have to come at us at Anfield. Let's see if we're up to it.

I usually do -- I think it is same day delay on the Setanta Channel at 4:45 EST. The ESPN game is Real-Arsenal.

I think Garcia deserves to start in this match. It's alright to start him in the Champions League :D

Crouch and Morientes will have it easy to win air balls against their defense. Just whip them long balls in and let them maul them down.

Easy to win air balls? Are you kidding me? Our central defenders are the tallest players of our league at MUCH over 6 ft. and part of the Brazilian national team so it won't be a walk in the park.

i think benfica can pull it off me being a benfica fan all my life and with the poor performances benfica's had lately it would be a great moral booster for the team to beat liverpool but we will see what happen when time comes

That's fair enough, but it WILL be a bigger morale booster for Liverpool to win away.

I'd think Hamann should be favored over Momo after his strong performance on Saturday and with his experience in European competition, especially on the road. Momo has a tedency to get stuck in and this isn't a game you can afford a rash challenge taking the team down to 10 men.
Similarly, I'd think that if Garcia is up to it you'd see him replace Morientes (or possibly Crouch if he isn't feeling 100% still) to go with a slightly more versatile lineup.

Setanta Sports (closed-circuit) is showing the game live. My local Portuguese club bought the game, so you should check your local pubs or clubs to find out if they bought the game also (only commercial places can purchase it).

at the beginning of the champions league no one gave benfica a chance some people believed that they could do it and now that we are facing liverpool no one's giving us a chance we can post the biggest upset in the CL this year anythibng could happen

No we don't need an upset by Benfica. There will be plenty of eyes on this game . We can do it . I would like to see Garcia start this one as he can run at defenders and give us some more options. Come on Reds!!!
