So there I was, just lying in bed this morning. Haven't been able to do that for a while. So I clicked FSC on, it was football (surprize) from Seria A, Italy.

What a crock of Poo Poo..!!! The more I watched the more I realized why the terraces where empty.
I don't think there was any time play continued for more than 60 seconds without a whistle. Usually for a dive or a sly trip (Or both) resulting in para medics with stretchers running on to provide mouth to mouth and heart starting resusitation.

I have to admit, those medics were good. Before they could get the man on the stretcher he would leap to his feet and trot off to take his free kick....A freekin' miracle, before my very eyes. Too bad Diana was assassinated in Paris and not Rome.....;)

I lost count of the smashed windpipes as people were karate chopped to the throat and the broken legs. One poor guy had two broken legs for a while but he bravely played on for the team.

When one keeper was chalenged with a threatening glare, he went down faster than a Venitian whore's knickers. (Or RVN) While the rest of his team threatened to walk off unless the glare-er was red carded.

They must have had 22 ambulances parked behind the dressing rooms for the trip to the ozzie after the match.

Thank the good Haysus for the prem...!!!

On another note, my cable provider just picked up ESPN Deportes. So I got to watch the Rotterdam Derby, Feyenoord v. Sparta Rotterdam @ noon today. [CL Matchday 6: Benfica v. Scum is on now]

*Kuyt looked strong and able to play anywhere across their front three. But more of a link man than out-n-out stiker it seemed. Nice replacement for Morientes perhaps?
*Crowd atmosphere was nice.
*ESPN does put out good video production. Much better than the FSC.

In general play was earnest and without the heavy dose of cynicism I've grown to see from some leagues.

[Disclaimer: At least the minutes I watched in between chasing my daughter and dribbling the soccer ball around the house terrorizing the dog.]

To be fair, FSC ususally gets the worst Seria A games. If you throw in Christian Miles, its a really bad experience. If an Italian were to turn on Sunderland vs. Portsmouth with a clueless announcer, they wouldn't think much of the Premiership either.

I love how FSC tries to bill their Serie A games as the relegation battle RIGHT HERE ON FSC. And it's even worse in Italy, because the team's there are so disparate from top to bottom.

I'm with Usscouse on this one (per usual). Crap football is crap football and I've seen Milan Derby matches that exactly fit his description of Serie A.

Compared to Engalnd and Spain, I agree that Italian football isn't the best.

No, this isn't the "My grandaughter is cuter than your" thread. It just looks that way.

How about this for form?
I'd feel sorry for any kid playing against this one when she starts. She is just one solid muscle.

You have to start off young!

I've got a rubber soccer ball in the crib every night and a full size one one the floor in the living room. I'm leaving it without a shadow of a doubt what her favorite sport will be.

There'll be no Pop Warner Cheerleaders in my house!

It's more hair than anything else. My girlfriend moved it in with her stove and china cabinet... sadly I had no say. He likes to go to the field though, and despite being only a foot long he will chase a soccer ball up to 60 yards. All in all he is fun, unless I mistake him for the soccer ball again.

My girlfriend on Sunday on a beach right outside Half Moon bay. We took a little road trip to celebrate Saturday's victory (shhh...don't tell her that).

Love Half moon Bay. When we had business in SFO we'd stay in HMB just to get away.

My girlfriend thought I was an idiot to bring my scarf halfway around the world just to take this picture, but she doesn't understand why I wake up at 4AM to watch a match, either. :D
