No Triangle In Bermuda (http://www.boston.com/sports/soccer/articles/2006/02/18/no_triangle_in_bermuda/) by By Frank Dell'Apa

Parkhurst apparently nursing a minor injury.

Also interesting that SN says the lineup today against Bermuda is likely to be the one we see (well hear) on Wed against LDA.

TnT, NoonanFrom one of the formations shown against the Bermuda U20 team, it seems we went 4-3-3, not 4-4-2. We had Noonan, Simms and Dempsey up top.

It might be interesting to see if we could make that work from time to time this year. Something like this, when everyone gets healthy.

------------------ Reis ------------------
Heaps - Parkhurst - Hernandez - Franchino
----- Ralston -- Joseph -- Lochhead -----
- Dempsey ----- Twellman ----- Noonan -

btw: It's Lochhead

I don't think Dempsey or Noonan have the legs or lungs to make this work.

I don't think Dempsey or Noonan have the legs or lungs to make this work.Noonan and Dempsey already play forward, and do it quite well IMO. The 5-3-2 or 3-5-2 puts quite a bit of defensive responsibility on the wing players. This makes them chase all the way back into their own box, and requires them to attack all the way into the opponents box. The 4-3-3 does not require as much defense from the forward positions.

I'm not saying the 4-3-3 is ideal against all opponents, but it is an interesting combination. I'd also like to see some more speed in the forward positions, as neither Dempsey, Twellman or Noonan is a speed threat.

i'd say dempsey is fast, and noonan is quite quick. Twellman seems incapable of sprinting. his fastest seems too be more of a lope.

would could run a Mexican style 3-4-3

Heaps - Parkhurst - Joey
Ralston - DH- Joseph - Marshall/Lochhead
Dempsey - TnT - Noonan

Have DH and Joseph sit centrally and protect the back line and run the attack though the flanks of Ralston and Noonan. Just throwing out an idea.

Sims-DempseySoccer New England (http://www.soccernewengland.com/articles/view_article.php?id=963) had it as a 4-3-3, and the poor excuse for a web site the Revolution run had it as a 4-3-2 (they were missing a player). A day later the Rev site had updated theirs to a 4-4-2. I think I trust Soccer New England more.

It's all relative. A 4-4-2 with Noonan on the wing can end up looking like a 4-3-3 anyways, or the reverse.

(Edit: Do we even know Soccer New England has someone in Bermuda? Their match report didn't have any info that couldn't have been seen or assumed from the Revs site and they haven't had any exclusive Revs content since the Revs left for Bermuda. For all I know they may have taken the 4-3-2 line-up and figured out what many on BS did, that Noonan started and Latham came in for him and just added him to the line-up)
