Does anyone know if USSF ever received more tickets from FIFA and if so, has anyone that was originally put on the waiting list received any good news (tickets) from USSF?

I actually just talked to someone at USSF today and she said that they should be getting another allotment of tickets next week, and since I am on the waitlist for US-Italy and have a good confirmation number it would be likely that I'd be getting tickets for that match that I requested. She said that we should definately know by the end of next week. That was the whole conversation, and that's all I know (or was told).

......a good confirmation number .....

What exactly does that mean? When did you get your application in?

This is exciting news, I too am on the waiting list.

I had the complete opposite experience the day before yesterday.
I talked to someone named Teresa and she refused to tell me anything: very unhelpful.
Can I ask you for the first 2 digits of your confirmation number? My number starts 93xx.
I'd like to know if I've got a chance at tix.

I wonder if it also won't be a function of waiting position plus ticket category that they have you listed for. IOTW if you'd originally requested Cat I then it gives them more opportunity to downgrade and give you a ticket if one becomes available, whereas there may be a limited number of Cat IVs if that's what you requested and they don't seem to bump anyone up a category to assign tickets.

Hopefully the info is correct and they'll have more people notified next week. That would be sweet.

IIRC (it's been awhile since I filled out the form:), there was a box that said "will you accept other price categories should your chosen category be filled?"

Can anyone back me up on that shoddy recollection?

I talked to Amy (of Bigsoccer fame) and she said basically they didn't know how many tickets FIFA alloted them and they were still processing cancellations this week. She said they'd know more next week. But didn't give a deadline of when waitlisters might know. That was Wednesday, so they may have gotten more info today.

There was something along those lines, but it seemed to me they didn't try to upgrade, just downgrade.

You are correct - I'm glad I checked it, since my tix for US-Italy were awarded in Cat 3 and I asked for Cat 2....

But I'm not complaining. ;)

Same exact situation here. Fingers and toes crossed.... again.... for the umpteenth time.

Along with living in Atlanta and being a Bayern fan as well, I too have a confirmation in the 8's with a 9:43 delivery time.

Come on cancellations!

I was on the 7:09 truck and my conf is in the 9300's.... Good thing I spent that $60 for priority overnight.

If they are "still processing" I would guess there are quite a few cancellations. Add this to the FIFA allotment (at least 3000?) and maybe there is hope...

I'm going no matter what, but having tix in hand would be awesome!

I was with the 7:09 delivery group and we got Cat IV tickets to the Czech and Ghana matches. Struck out on Italy I sent an E-mail to USSF asking about status on the Waitlist if I had already recieved tickets for some matches but not other and this is what I got back;

"Dear Daric,

FIFA announced on Tuesday (Feb. 1) the additional allocation of 140,000 tickets to the National Associations participating in the World Cup. At this point in time, U.S. Soccer has not learned of its individual allocation, if any at all. However, it is anticipated that the number of tickets we could receive will be very small because the U.S. games have been in high demand.

As FIFA releases additional information on these tickets, information will be posted on our website and fans in our system will receive an e-mail update. Members on the Priority Waiting List per the original ussoccer.com private sale (which you are still on for the U.S. vs. Italy match) will receive priority status for any additional tickets received by U.S. Soccer.

Thanks for your continued support of U.S. Soccer. "

So I am hoping that puts me in good standing for Italy Tickets

I talked to Paul from US Soccer yesterday and our conversation can be summarized as follows:

A) He would not say that US Soccer had received additional tickets from FIFA.
B) I asked him how far down the waiting list is my 103XX confirmation #. He stated that he could not, nor could anyone else at US Soccer, give me that info because there are too many variables in play. I did not quite understand this because I said, "well there has to be an order of some type right? Otherwise, how do you decide who gets tickets?" He could not clarify.
C) He said I simply had to wait to be notified (or not).

He was very polite and I felt better about having talked to him, but am convinced that my chances through US Soccer is a longshot at best.

FYI: Fedex screwed my AM delivery and it arrived at 2pm on Day 2 of the process.

Good luck everyone! My wife and I are going to be there regardless of tickets, We are staying in Essen the night of the 12th and in Landstuhl the night of the 17th.....lets take over our venues with Red White and Blue.

You're doing a lot better than me then...... I got 0 first round tix despite my Fedex being on the 7:09 truck (only conditional round of 16). Requesting cat 3 tickets appeared to be my downfall.

I'd take anything I can get at this point.

In the course of providing some additional information re: the Czech tickets I was allocated, the USSF rep provided the unsolicited comment that there is indeed going to be an additional FIFA allocation. I asked when and was told they, USSF, were hoping to receive notice from FIFA early next week so that they could distribute the tickets next week, prior to their, USSF, departure to Germany for the March 1 match. So, it sounds like more tickets for sure, maybe next week, maybe sometime in early March.

\so that they could distribute the tickets next week, prior to their, USSF, departure to Germany for the March 1 match.

Why would the USSF employees, especially those who handle the clerical work of sorting through WC applications and allocating tickets, be going to Germany for this match? Is that some kind of perk?

Damn Fed Ex! My order also arrived at 2pm. I also have a 103XX confirmation #. I did get 2 conditional R16 tickets.
