I talked to Paul from US Soccer yesterday and our conversation can be summarized as follows:

A) He would not say that US Soccer had received additional tickets from FIFA.
B) I asked him how far down the waiting list is my 103XX confirmation #. He stated that he could not, nor could anyone else at US Soccer, give me that info because there are too many variables in play. I did not quite understand this because I said, "well there has to be an order of some type right? Otherwise, how do you decide who gets tickets?" He could not clarify.
C) He said I simply had to wait to be notified (or not).

He was very polite and I felt better about having talked to him, but am convinced that my chances through US Soccer is a longshot at best.

FYI: Fedex screwed my AM delivery and it arrived at 2pm on Day 2 of the process.

Good luck everyone! My wife and I are going to be there regardless of tickets, We are staying in Essen the night of the 12th and in Landstuhl the night of the 17th.....lets take over our venues with Red White and Blue.

I spoke with US Soccer on Friday. My confirm# was in the low 9000's. I requested tickets for US-CZE and US-Italy. They indicated that they were still getting many cancellations from people and that they would be adding that to the FIFA allotment. They said part of the process would be done this upcoming week. The person also told me that I have nothing to worry about in regards to getting tickets. It seems they may have had many cancellations. I really hope this is the truth as I have bought tickets to three other games through Razorgator. I paid and arm and leg for those. Hope this gives some of us hope.

This is all some promising news, but I am curious. We originally ordered all three first round matches through USSF on the application, but we were not awarded US/Italy due to the obvious reason that there were none of those tickkets left.
-Does anyone know if that means those who were not awarded their full application request are defaulted to the waitlist? The reason I ask is my order confirmation did not state anything about that game being put on a waiting list.

Does anyone else find it odd that people would cancel their order after going through the hassle of standing by a fax and ripping their hair out for hours on end? because essentially, those are the folks that were awarded tix in this "special" (I've got another word for it) sale. Perhaps they are getting corporate sponsorship cancellations, in which case, those who requested upper Cat tix might be the first to benifit.

I was in the same situation...requested Italy tickets, but no indication I am on the waitlist, but per my earlier post, I was told that I was on the waitlist for this game. So, I am assuming you too are on the waitlist, provided you requested those tickets.

BTW, someone asked what my conf. number was...it is 82xx

If you page through the FIFA Phase IV thread, you'll notice some people are getting TSTs there, which would obviate the need for single game tickets bought through the Fed. Others have gotten lucky in the most recent FIFA lottery. Since you can't cancel FIFA orders, those who've scored a better deal there are calling USSF to release their reservations to the waiting list or transfer them to friends.

I have no idea, but as a tueamfedexer who has zilch right now and requested Cat 1 or worse I'm not questioning the Soccer Gods.

Once again, my hopes are up...

(This from the guy who spent 3 hours Wed morning running between offices hitting "refresh" knowing there was very little chance of getting anything through FIFA)

I'm on the waiting list for all the group games with cat 3 tickets requested (though I said I would take anything available). I did, however, get conditional (cat 3) tickets to the round of 16 and quarterfinals.

Since it seems that FIFA alloted the USSF many more cat 4 tickets than anything else the last time around, I'm thinking about changing my request from cat 3 to cat 4. Is anyone else thinking about doing this? Since the FIFA rules say that you can only have cat 4 tickets to a maximum of 3 games, do the conditional tix count against me?

Yes conditional tickets count against your allotment of three games.

Why would the USSF employees, especially those who handle the clerical work of sorting through WC applications and allocating tickets, be going to Germany for this match? Is that some kind of perk?

My guess is the USSF has to have people on the ground to coordinate on-site ticket sales or something like that.

I don't imagine they would just call the Polish or German FA and say "please tell us what our cut of ticket sales is."

I have no idea how the process is run but this seems logical to me.

So if I got two Cat4s from USSF for Ghana and conditional round-of-16, that would mean that I'm only allowed to go for two more games through FIFA, which sucks, because I already got 3 more games (not cat4) last week...

Cry me a river, some people on here have nothing. Sounds like you have plenty of tickets to me.

If someone was planning to go to Germany only got one ticket instead of all 7, they may not feel going all the way to Germany is worth watching 1 or 2 matches. Even if I don't have tickets to the first round, I'm still going and I plan on having a great time.

I guess this is good news for the rest of us.

Yeah...my whole trip is paid (except for hotels, which I'll pay there) so this is damn good news. I got nothing from U.S. Soccer and got denied via FIFA, so I'm holding out hope that I get something. I contacted U.S. Soccer and I'm still waitlisted...
This has been such a frustrating process...my goodness.
Confirmation #61**
Requested two Cat 1 Tix for Italy and Czech.

Gee, isn't that what we were told for months before the original USSF debacle? Hopeful, but not comforted.

Agreed. Those were the exact words I got from USSF 3 weeks prior to Dec 12th. Hope this time they are more accurate.

Does anyone really think that the USSF is going to start allocating additional tickets this week? I have serious doubts in light of their past fookups, but I keep checking my email regardless. Damn them.

With the game coming up in Germany, if we don't hear anything this week, I suspect we won't hear anything next week either. Some of the USSF staff that handled the ticket allocation went to the west coast when the US team played friendlies there. I would guess those same people are going overseas next week.

Clearly, the USSF must have gotten some tickets from FIFA. Coupled with cancellations, you would think that they could start working the waitlist. Just like everyone though, I'm skeptical that can do this efficiently. I'm also concerned that USSF "insiders" will scoop up the remaining tickets. The fact that they haven't sent out an e-mail to clarify the mystery of the waitlist means that they prefer that everyone remain in the dark to cover whatever inept process they have working. Good luck to everyone and please post if you hear anything.

That's a valid fear in light of the Cheney like secrecy that has surrounded this whole process with the USSF. I'm hoping for the best, but wouldn't be shocked if the USSF ends up saying they didn't get any extra tix from FIFA and all the cancelled tickets magically disappear (to Nike, Phillips, family/friends of USSF execs, etc).

Even worse, suddenly a glut of USA tickets show up on e-Bay/RazorGator/wherever to take advantage of the high prices.

"I'd have never sent my tickets back to USSF in the first place if I'd known I could sell them on e-Bay for $800 a pair", explained one happy Nike mid-lvel marketing exec after discovering he'd been reissued his original ticket allotment. "Who knew anyone would pay to watch soccer!"
