Alright,
This has got to be more interesting than debating semi-retarded basement-dwellers.
Rules:
(1) Pick 11 players and 7 subs
(2) You must have actually seen the players in action during your lifetime – either on live TV or at a game. Watching reruns of Greaves and Blanchflower does not count unless you’re in your 40s at least.
(3) The players can be assumed to be playing at their peak.
(4) Any other rule I think up when necessary.
Here’s my team. I’m having trouble with fullbacks, but here it is.
----------------------------Robinson----------------------------
-----Carr------- Campbell--------King-------------Ziege--------
----Ginola-------Gascoigne--------Hoddle----------Waddle-------
-------------------Lineker-----------Klinsmann-------------------
Subs: Clemence (Ray), Mabbutt, Fenwick, Ardiles, Davids, Allen (Clive), Archibald

Very good team there, except for one thing...... NO TARICCO!
Christian 'Ohh meine leg! Ist das hurt!' Ziege, and his pristine kits after every game....no passion! No effort!

I think semi-retarded flatters you, mate. Even retards can count to 4. ;)
HAHAHAHAHA. :D

I dunno... While I'm definitely a fan of passion and effort, if both players were playing at their best, Ziege would be far better than Tano imo.

Oooh...
Goon4Life, gotta hand it you. You're sooooo smart (Socratic irony). Now unless you want to post your best team ever, be a good little boy and feck off to find typos elsewhere.

Hahaha. What a pathetic response...then again what would I expect from someone who can't count to four and who doesn't know what Socratic Irony is?
Owned. :)

Ziege was class, although he barely played due to only having one working leg.
I'd maybe have Sheringham with Lineker, would have been a brilliant partnership.

Shut up.
Mods really need to sort this out...

Thanks Colm.

Sheri almost made my team for that very reason. And you're right, that would have been quite a partnership. I can just imagine Teddy teeing things up perfectly and good old Golden tapping them in. Those two just about missed each other at Spurs didn't they?
Ziege was class, although he barely played due to only having one working leg.
Agreed, although it bugs me that I can't think of more good left backs that we've had in the past 20 years or so. Other than Ziege and Tano, anyone got a suggestion?

The left backs over the past 20 years have been Chris Hughton, Van den Hauwe, Edinburgh, Clive Wilson, Taricco, Ziege, Edman & Lee.
Left back is a position we have struggled with over the years with only Christian Ziege being the most well known one but we had him towards the end of his playing days.

Here I was thinking my prolonged absence from BS was all bad. Glad I missed that ungainly episode.
Well, at least the polesmoker had good grammar.

Greaves must be in there
What about Alan Mullary? who scored the winning goal in the 1972 Uefa Cup final
Perryman deserves a vote, so Ardiles, Villa and mabey Martin Peters

...didn't Chris Hughton play LB for us?
....he is a legend all the way and I'd put him ahead of the Tano and Carr any day.
