Dudek's done well in the past three starts so it begs the question, "Will Reina have an automatic spot come Saturday?"

I'I dumped Reina when he was suspended and picked up Dudek; I'm now trying to decide when to buy him back!

Thanks :)

Yes.

Yeah, I think it's no question. Reina starts.

I'd give Dudek one more match.

Gotta go back to Reina.

Besides, we all know Dudek's history against the Scum.

I found a bunch of quotes from Dudek saying that, before the Chelsea game, Rafa told him to be patient and that Jerzy would get his share of games in order to be ready for the World Cup. I wonder if this is his shot?

i'm not sure this is relevant. is Dudek playing well enough to start against anyone, regardless of the significance of the match? Arsenal and Wigan are quality. but it was the Liverpool defense that shut down Arsenal, for the most part. 6 or 7 shots, total?

both Arsenal and Wigan were missing key players. Roberts is one of the top 5 strikers in the EPL, on current form, IMO.

i'm not downplaying the wins, but i'm trying to point out that Dudek wasn't the reason for the victories.

i'd go with Reina, but i know that this would mean a heavy blow to Dudek.

No one can want to see Dudek in against the Rags. It's like being an Arsenal fan and seeing Robbie Fowler warm up.

He's done well enough, but as others have pointed out, he's not had a vast amount to do, bar the Charlton game (where he sensationally failed to save a crucial spotkick!! ;) ). Overall, Reina remains the better goalkeeper and in a game like this you play your strongest team. We're not doing so well yet that we can treat an FA Cup game as anything other than a must-win. Particularly as it is more unlikely than likely that we will again make it through all remaining European rigours with the midfield bailing out a goal-shy attack. That was the rub of the green last year, no one's that lucky twice out.

Okay - point taken. However, the FA Cup isn't really what my fantasy team is playing for so maybe I should ask, "Will Dudek play the next league match?"

Well, no.

He may well make more appearances this season, I don't think we should discount that. But it's unlikely he will play against United or against Benfica in the CL next week. By that stage, what would be the point in putting him back in against City?

I thought, particularly against Arsenal, the Liverppol defenders looked a bit anxious-- more than usual-- whenever a ball was punted into the danger zone. The reasons why Reina was brought in remain, seemingly.

Lets put it this way...everytime Rafa has had the choice between Reina and Dudek this season, he chose Reina. 3 games isn't going to change that.
