I've watched around ten Chelsea games this season, and I was wondering what the correct Pronunciations of some of our players are. I've heard different commentators pronounce our names differently.
Melchiot:
I've heard - Mel-key-ot and Mel-chi-ot (How it's spelt)
Gudjohnsen:
I've heard - Good-john-sen and Good-yon-sen.
Desailly:
I've heard - Des-eye and Des-eye-e.
Stanic:
I've heard - Stan-ic and Stan-ich.
Some clarification would help.
Thanks, folks. :)

Melchiot: Mario with the dreads or geezer at the back with the dreads
Gudjohnsen: good johnson - the birds like Guddy
Desailly:Big des
Stanic: hopefully the commentators won't be pronouncing his name too often except when he comes on as a sub and scores with his head :)
I'd go along with the others pronunciations of our players names - but really it doesn't matter too much so long as they are playing well, and if they are not then we can call them all sorts of impolite names.

Yes as I mentioned on the game thread, Gronks is known afectionately as Forrest after the movie Forrest Gump
