All that says is that Arena is quoted as saying Keller is our number one. Thanks Coach Obvious!

Load of crap. This article says nothing new (although it does provide some insight into Sky's credibility, and not in a positive way). The thread title should be changed because I was afraid Howard suffered some sort of injury or had been cut by ManU.

I thought he had a Wayne Rooney moment while in Germany.

I just used the headline because at the time that's all that I could see as the story wasn't coming up. Feel free to change the thread title

For a second, thought that Tim Howard became the "American Maradona"

That's what I get for watching "London"

Uh, you may want to bounce that off of Marcus Hanneman.

As much as I like Howard, he has done nothing for himself on the bench at ManU - and it was clear when they went for VDS that he was going to stay on the bench.

He should fight to get loaned or picked up somewhere as a starter. I dare say he is not even a lock for the 23-man squad. There will be several GK's fighting for the 3rd spot, all of them starters in MLS.

Marcus is in pretty good form lately.
I think he'd catch it or at least punch it away rather than having it bounce off him.

I just don't see the point of taking an MLS guy as the third keeper. The chances of the third keeper playing meaningful minutes are extremely remote, why remove a player unnecessarily from his MLS team.

Now granted, I'd be thrilled to see someone like Steve Cronin get minutes while Hartman is away. From what I saw of him in the U20s, I think he has big talent. But otherwise it seems unnecessary...

Why did Meola get pulled off an MLS roster four years ago then? Frankly, Arena doesn't give a rat's ass. He'll take the third choice keeper he think will fit in with the team best regardless of whether they're in MLS or not.

Thanks ladies and gent's, he'll be here all week. Don't forget to tip your waiter.

Well because as things stood back then, the third keeper was going to be from MLS regardless. Hahnemann hadn't even been capped yet.

This year he has an easy option of taking three Euro keepers.

You would think that the English media would be quite familiar with American depth at the keeper position and this wouldn't be such a shock to them. Next they'll be writing "Germany Blow for Kenny Cooper!"

It would be sad for Timmy, but I could see how an MLS keeper might be sharper and more confident. Plus, keeper #3 has to be Miss Congeniality to an extent. I don't know which keeper adds the best intangibles to the mix.
