This is from HT-Bjorn himself. I will have to start enforcing these rules ASAP, so please read the whole thing.
We have been alerted that there is an increasing problem in the forums with users discussing and even promoting and openly embracing the use of applications (for instance Firefox plugins) that are not CHPP certified.
Everyone in this forum, please note chapter 25 of the game rules. It clearly states, and repeatedly so in order to underline the importance of this rule, that it is illegal to use and promote Hattrick applications that are not CHPP certified.
A Hattrick application is any product developed for and targeted against Hattrick users to be used in cooperation with the Hattrick web site.
Microsoft Internet Explorer or Firefox web browser are not Hattrick products. They do not need CHPP certification.
Any product that specifically aims its features based on the way the Hattrick web site works is definitely a product for Hattrick and thus need CHPP certification.
If an application has not gained CHPP certification, it hasn't for a good reason: It may be harmful for the game experience or the spirit of the game or for the servers.
Use of non-CHPP Hattrick applications is considered cheating. Using applications that in any way automate the game experience beyond what other users who follow the rules do, certainly gives you an edge over those following the rules.
Some users claim that since we cannot stop it completely, it should be/is legal. That is complete rubbish. Real-life football cannot completely enforce the rule that a player may not use shirt-pulling to stop another player. Yet it is certainly forbidden and if someone is caught doing it, they are punished by the referee. The same is true about use of illegal applications. It is cheating and staff and honest users must not waiver in rejecting cheating.
Please help us in enforcing the spirit of the game by ridding the forums of users promoting and/or boasting of their use of illegal applications. We do not accept users bragging about their cheating with using multiple teams, and we must not accept users bragging of their use of illegal applications.
Thanks for helping us with this. :-)
I'd just like to add to this that if anyone has any doubts about whether or not a program is CHPP certified or not, the first thing to do is check the list of approved programs (Community->Programs). If you are still unsure, the quickest way of checking is to email chpp@hattrick.org. They are usually very fast to respond to questions.
Thanks,

I find this quite odd
This (foxtrick) is not a program that automates much of anything - except maybe the way to flip a formation.
Does anyone have the tools to trap the communication packets to see if
Foxtrick intercepts/records/transmits your password?
Foxtrick doesn't download my stats and ratings that I'm aware of. It just "sits on top" of the Firefox interface and makes my screen pretty and provide in page links and info based on what the HTML data I have received.
What's next? Users of MS Excel are cheating because they are graphing and correlating data to help improve their experience with the game?
Your thoughts?
