After reading that, I would increase Noonan's chances of making the team for Germany. Bruce really seems to like a lot of things about him as a player.

Yea...just listened to the podcast. Great stuff!

I like Bruce more and more everyday! Many countries all over the world would be lucky to have Bruce...

It did seem to me that Bruce was trying to say his 4 forwards were, McBride, Johnson, Twellman & Wolff, without really saying it. He also plugged Noonan so much, it looked like he was trying to make a place for him on his bench!

If not for Keller, Hahnemann and Howard, Reis might have a shot as well.

This could be a tough time for Revs fans come the world cup. We could have too many players tied up in the US squad. I originally thought Twellman - Dempsey, but it seems like Noonan and Ralston still have a shot.

looks like that Bruce Arena character drank the Revs FO kool aid. he seems to love what SN has done.

I expect all the syncophanic glass half empty chronic complaning nabobs of negativity to now direct thier full hate and vengence on the bruce.

Interesting about ralston. it always sort of felt like bruce was sort of indifferent on him. He doesn't exactly have a ton of caps. he is in his 30s, didn't play in the last wc. Who knew Arena saw him as such an assett. I always though he should be there.

Liked bruce's honesty about dempsey's passing game. I bet Clint makes that a priority to work on that.

Someone please hhelp me though. Why is his love affair with Zvagnan and klein? they are both good players, but I thought neither looked good in the japan game, especially klien. I just don't get it. There are better players to take then both of them.

Wow comedic genius. I'm sure everyone was just falling out of the seats at your joke. You're just a laugh a minute...

Well...let me try. First, don't fall into the trap of viewing one game as making or breaking a coach's perspective of a player. BA sees these guys everyday in practice and so sees them about 10 times more than we do. Secondly, while Klein did NOT have a good game, remember that he was in a new position for the first time and hence was 'taking one for the team'. He typically does have a pretty sweet right foot. Zavagnin, I thought, had a pretty good game. He had one mistake near the area early in the game, but then did quite well.

If we get more detail and back and forth on these two guys we'll hijack the thread.

i've always put kliene and ralston as near the same level... so i would imagine that the bruce would want to keep both on to see who is healthy, or on form when it comes time to pic the team. wouldn't project either as starters, once the full team (with euros) is together.

Good points here. We can look at it just from the POV of our players, who've had some not so good games for the US, but now are looking like at least a couple will slot right into the team for Germany.

I've maintained since last year that if any Revs should make the trip, Ralston will be first on the list. Though I now believe Demps is also a pretty safe bet, the reason I've always thought it will be Raly is because it's no secret Arena values age and experience. Ralston's rarely the flashiest player, but he's very, very reliable and keeps a level head under pressure. That he scored twice in qualifying--including the go ahead vs. Mexico--doesn't hurt his case any. If he can beat his current injury and start the Revs season on a roll, he's in.

Dang rep system.

Ralston definitely seems to fit Arena's system of more classical wingers...speedy with great crossing ability. I hope he gets/stays healthy..he's bound to start a match for the US.

Positive feedback like this is bound to build Dempseys confidence...hopefully he'll put down some markers in the first part of the season as a result. We'll miss him when he's gone but its for the best.
