I am writing a screen play and one part takes place in Quito. Although I was in Quito for months, I did not sight see really.
If you were to take someone around, where would you go. I would like touristy things (especially dealing with Quito's history and culture) so people can see what most tourists see, but also places where la gente would be, to see how things really are.
I have ideas in my head, such as the golden churches, el parque nacional, elijo park, etc, but I would like more ideas and specifics. Thanks a lot guys.
some more ideas i have: the virgin with the wings, the plaza de la independencia, and the old town. but as i said, i would like more every day type things or historical places that are relevent to the indigenous people.
also a question, is my memory that bad? its not called el parque nacional is it, it is la carolina or el parque carolina, right? the one next to el jardin, the other mall, japon (the store), and el estadio olimpico?

some new attraction was bulit, some kinda elevated machine that shows around the city.
Quito is a great mixture of tradition and modern.

yeya! u can go to the centro, to the calle naciones unidas for shopping and attractions, the parque carolina for ecuavoley and soccer, mitad del mundo, teleferico, el estadio olimpico, la casa blanca, or el chillogallo to watch soccer. Also for clubbing, go by the calle Amazonas, naciones unidas, republica de el salvador. Quito is a kick ass time.

These are the girls who will seduce you, marry you, and then cut your "hair" off like Delila did to Samson.
Then its the bottle for you
I rather get me an Amazon chick

Astabootyman,
Did you make the movie yet? Did you check out the funky little museum right next to Mitad del Mundo? It's great. Balancing on egg on a nail head and pouring water down a drain on both sides of the ecuator...
I liked the Fundación Guayasamin too. Also Parque Metropolitano (the one on the hill) is beautiful but its charms might not translate onto film.
Parque Carolina is really good for soccer, ecuavolley and that other weird game (¿Pelota nacional?) Like the other dude mentioned the 3 soccer stadiums would be a really good contrast to eachother and Chillogallo (home to Aucas) would let you focus a little more on the Indigenous people. Damm I miss Quito. I used to live right next to Estadio Olimpico Atahualpa and could run down for games.

What's you're screenplay about??? I have a great interest in video production though it no longer involves my job. I am currently working on a Galapagos documentary about the awarness of sharks in our eco-system...though it's actually been idle for about 5 months.

Hey what is your film about? Any more details on what you may be looking for. I am going back to Quito in April for good. I could try and see some places and set you up.
