Due to Staltieri making some serious cock-ups these last few games, I've decided to vent my frustrations by kicking his arse - VIRTUALLY! The wonders of modern technology! Feel free to join in;
Jumhed runs up to Staltieri and gives him a flying elbow to the head, Ong-Bak style, then does a sweep kick, which sends 'our' Paul crashing to the floor.

Jumhed does a 'flying knee' into Staltieri's throat, and then stamps on his balls.
Jumhed wonders why other Spurs fans are holding back.

Is it me or is Paul Stalteri costing us points on a weekly basis?Hes cost us 3 games where we should have held on for 1 -0 victories. He cant go forward and he constantly gets turned over by wingers.Ive seen Robinson have a go constantly but he does not seem to take notice. This guy is not a top 4 team defender.Gives away too many free kicks which result in goals.Steven Kelly is so much better ,why is Jol being stubborn and playing this incompitent Stalteri.
Heres a big flying kick in the guys head!!!

I didn't see the game today because I couldn't find it ANYWHERE (how there can be no coverage whatsoever of a game between 2 European contenders, I'll never know, but that's a different issue...) but didn't Stalteri get an assist today? His crosses have been gradually improving all season long, so a few more of those and maybe it could redeem him a little.
I still blame him for Sunderland, though.

1 deflected cross doesnt make me forget hes substandard. He wouldnt get into any of the top ten sides in the premiership. To be honest he is a champioship player.Far too many lapses, and doesnt really offer anything to the team.Cant pass forward , to scared to take on people and always giving way dangerous free kicks, not to mention always being muscled, losing out to the wingers. Not a Spurs player, Bring back Kelly!!!!!!!!

I have to agree that Stalteri is below the standard that we want. He would not get into the team at either Chelski, Manure, Pool, or the Scum - which is what we need to be looking at.
But, I think you're exagerating by saying he's a championship player. He is good enough for the premiership - just not good enough for where we want to be going, i.e. Europe.
And as for Kelly, sure he has the potential to be a good player. But I'm sorry, he hasn't shown many signs of that potential realizing itself. Right now he sukks. He has done nothing impressive in any of the games he has played in. On the contrary, he's made some horrendous mistakes. He has no physical presence, is not that great going forward and gets caught in posession too often. Jol watches him play in training every day and still concludes that Stalteri is the better option. That's good enough for me. Let him have another season in the reserves or out on loan and then maybe he'll be ready.

I can't believe he is still getting selected, he is our weak link.

Kelly was good last season, and from what i have seen so far Stalteri is not a upgrade. I hope Jol is not someone who is stubborn and waits a age before realising his signings (Stalteri & Lee in particular) are no good. What bloody genius plays a right footer at left back? I saw Lee today give the ball away and because the crowd went mental he went into a kind of a sulk and never run back to his position.
Kelly is out of contract at the end of the season so unless we sign a right back in the summer we will be stuck with Stalteri and Ifil.

Stalteri has been called to Canada's national team friendly vs. Austria in Vienna on March 1st, so those of you who feel your coach is an idiot for continually playing him at every opportunity and wish to see Stalteri out of the line-up long term or indefinitely may wish to send your suggestions of how to injure Paul to the Austrian team prior to the match. ;)

Sanchez is on the ropes... He jumps in the air... Stalteri didn't see it coming... Ouch - it looks like he won't be able to play for spurs again!
He was very poor against Wigan and cost us badly against Sunderland. But the short-term alternative, Kelly, is hardly any better. There's not much we can do until the summer, when we badly need 2 decent full backs. I've been saying this for a while now. We should be able to attract good players with our team and (hopefully) european football next year.
Keeper, central defence, midfield and strikers are good enough. We probably need a left winger (or convert Jenas properly) and definitely need full backs. Jol isn't stupid, he'll realise soon enough, like with Rasiak (I'm taking full credit for his departure by the way).:)

I'm the last entry, and it's just me and Stalteri.
I shout something obscene at him, and point to an imaginary blimp in the sky. He looks and i clothesline him over the ropes. I win!
He really was stupid, we were in an indoor arena. How could there be a blimp in the sky if we're indoors!
Still, i won. I am the best. Me. Me, me, me. Say my name, bitch. Say it. Say it.
Yeahh... that's right.

This was posted on COYS, i thought it was funny and sums up Stalteri.
Paul Stalteri admits he has re-lived in his mind the moment that cost us a <win/ point> at <insert away team here> on Saturday.
The full-back's attempted <clearance/ block/ tackle/ pass/ header> deep into stoppage time was hunted down by <insert name of unlikely scorer here>, who proceeded to score past the despairing dive of Paul Robinson.
"Yes, although it wasn't a question of not knowing what to do - it just didn't come off," recalled the Canadian back at Spurs Lodge this week. "I wanted to get the ball upfield as far as I could, but it was a bit of a <insert type of unforced error here>.
"It was unfortunate, we were close to doing everything we could to come away with a well deserved <win/draw here>, but again we gave up a <delete as applicable: stupid/ last minute/ injury time> goal we should have avoided.
"IT WAS A MISTAKE FROM ME, IF I HAD CLEARED IT FURTHER THEN PROBABLY ALL THE DANGER WOULD HAVE BEEN CLEARED FROM THERE."
It was the ultimate punishment for a failure to <clear the ball upfield/ pass successfully/ head accurately/ cross usefully/ run quickly> and for Paul, watching it unfold was a painful <but now familiar> experience.
"At first I thought we would deal with the danger and be alright, but when someone pulls out < insert: a goal/ corner/ run/ penalty/ his knob> like that it makes you even more upset because there was nothing we could do about such a fantastic strike.
"It was a bad moment for the team and me personally."

I've said it all season, but I'll say it again ... Staltieri just isn't good enough. Sure, sometimes his mistakes get covered by Dawson, King or Robbo, but he makes a lot of them. Spurs need better defending fullbacks on both sides, but replacing Staltieri is absolutely necessary in the summer. I like the guy's committment to the team and positive attitude, but he's just not starter caliber. And honestly, Lee's defending scares me too much as well. I'd prefer he just be labeled a left winger, which is what he plays anyway. Then we could get someone who was able to defend. Improving our fullback situation shouldn't be too expensive, and it shouldn't be too difficult. Unless we're biding time to get Wayne Bridge, I just don't know why we've gone a whole season without upgrading these positions.

Kelly did well on saturday, forced the winger back from early on.. and although he got caught out a few times it was Heskey and Campbell.. neither of whom are really good enough to test a decent Prem side. Although Campbell might be one day, Heskey would be better as a tightly coiled pile on the pitch than a player.
