For someone who hates MLS so much (just noticed your thread on the MLS boards) ... you sure do spend a lot of time here.

You're right ... no major league would ever have their team changes it's name. Like the Bullets.

Should we be worried that the British are going to demand that the Kraft's change the Patriots and Revolution team names?

Houston Mexicans
Close, instead of the year that Houstan left Mexico for America the team will get the name of America, or rather Houston Club America. This should be exceptable as America is owned by Mexicians  . As it turns out Club America was not able to sign all the lines in time, but promised MLS it would. The 1836 name was just to get interest in the area before finalizing the name to Club America.

After another round of backlash from the residents over the name with America in it, Club America responds. "We figured all the residents would understand the irony in it. We did not count on all the PC folk jumping all over the Club America name too."

I thought MLS originally wanted to build a strong American fan-base? not a Mexican fan-base

whatever their 'official' name is, they'll always be known as the houston clashquakes.
