I could top that.... After sleeping for maybe 2 hours a night for the whole week of Mardi Gras in New Orleans. I( got home and went to sleep on Wednesday at 7PM and woke up on Friday at Noon. My parents were seriously concerned I was dead...

Amsterdam, Austria, Paris, London then to a club on the 3rd day and then feeling the effects once we finally stopped doing activities that required movement i.e walking, dancing etc. On rhe train it started to hit me and when I got home I slept from Friday thru till Monday 11am :D It's great when you go to sleep clean shaven and wake up with a a beard isn't it >_< When I woke up I didn't know what year it was, let alone the day - I should have run out onto the street and asked someone frantically 'WHO IS THE PRESIDENT! WHAT YEAR IS THIS!' It took me about half a week to get back to normal after that, sleeping patterns were a mess and I had the longest piss of my life when I woke up, er perhaps too much info there..
Quite a few other stories to tell, ah memories. These days I needs a good 7hrs a night. I used to be a 4hrs sleep person

i stayed up for 30 when i went to france i stayed up all the day of the flight, all of the flight, all day in france and slept like 3in the monring in france
My record for staying up is 9am GMT on a Wednesday until about 11pm EST (4am GMT) on a Friday night, with a 9-hour flight in the middle where I didn't get any sleep due to being sat next to two old, moaning Irish women. 71 hours, by my count.

41 hours straight, without waking up? That's sick. Didn't you have to go to bathroom or smth? Afaic, I can't sleep for more than 10 hours straight even if I didn't sleep for 2 nights in a row.
Amazingly I didn't wake up to hit the head at all... But when I finally woke up I pissed like Austin Powers..;)

I used to be able to stay up for days on end now if I don't catch a good 7-8 hours a night I'm a zombie..... Don't even get me started on how my tolerance has gone down from the days when I could suck down 40 beers plus liquor in a night....

I get by on about six hours a night during the week and then catch up on the weekend. It's sad that nowadays I find myself dozing off during the 12:30 am "The Golden Girls". Er, I mean "Frasier".

During high school me and my best mate once worked a 107 hour week and still managed to go to 1/2 of our classes. I think I only slept for about 21 hours that week.

Woke up on Friday afternoon, no sleep since. Think that's about 62 hours.
My eyes are stinging like mad as they're telling me they need a break and for some reason I'm smoking alot more too (every half hour or so). Just can't nod off. :(

Been unable to sleep more than 4 hours the last few days of work - I've been really exhausted all day at the office, but I can't sleep at night..

I had emergency oral surgery during the summer and have been on a very odd schedule for antibiotics (damn infection refuses to go away!).
Anyhow, school semester started this past Thursday. The sleeping bit did not give me problems when I could sleep in or had a short shift at work, but now that I have to dedicate nearly all day to study, it takes its toll.
Sleeping patterns are fukced.

Well, I've been dealing with allegeries off and on all summer, and I had forgotten how a good dose of Nyquil could make one nod off. Benadryl, too. All that relaxing antihistamine. Maybe you guys should take some for a night or two, to catch up on some sleep -- it's not addictive and doesn't leave any kind of hangover effect (It's been ages since I felt as rested as I did after a week of Nyquil every night). Also, turn of the TV, computer, stereo while you're trying to sleep. If there's nothing to do but lie there, you're more likely to drift off.

Yeah, I used to leave my PC on with a short 5-7 song playlist, expecting to fall asleep during the tunes. But I always choose songs I really like - and I end up just staying awake, listening to all the songs, and not being asleep.
Nyquil is gold, I used tons of that during college to sleep.

Nyquil is not addictive? I remember having a flu a few years back, so I took it to be able to sleep at night, and it was really good... So ended up taking it for about 2 more weeks just because I couldn't get to sleep without it, and it took a while for me to start sleeping normally again without it.
If you are not a hangover type person, I'd suggest a moderate amount of alcohol (couple of beers), that usually helps.
But the best option is take a shower before sleep (warm water), and at the very end turn off the hot water and stand there for about 10 seconds. It'll be really cold, but if you go to bed right away, it really helps.
