Not to mention the historic upset of the Norwegians our Curling team pulled off this morning. Presently, we are battling the Fins.

Amen to both. Although snowboard is a bit more mainstream than skateboard, the half-pipe competition notwithstanding, so it's a little more logical that something like boardercross would be an Olympic sport, imo.

Is it just me, or has the USA hype machine crashed and burned for the most part? (Kwan, Bode Miller, Ohno, et. al)

Crashed and burned is the right. Bode Miller is a trainwreck. I think he's been partying with the snowboard team. Ohno has just had bad luck. How about curling? Those ladies are hot.:D

Okay, the US Women's Curling team sucks. Forget their looks, they just suck. I've watched all their matches and I can't believe this is the same team that went 10-1 in the World Championships in 2005.

Shani Davis' voice creeps even Baby Jesus out. Congrats to him for his success, but he's just off to me.

Miller's been his usual self. He's crashed and has DNFs and DSQs, but he always has those, so this isn't really any different from normal. Rahlves, the skier the American press wanted to outshine Miller, has been off, too. This may be the best Alpine Skiing team the US has had on paper, and through injuries and inconsistency, they just aren't producing on the slopes.

Kwan was injured coming in, and shouldn't have been added to the team. You might say the same about Miller, too, (he's had a knee problem this season), but Miller was the only chance the US had to medal in all 5 disciplines on the men's side. (The women's only chance for 5, Kildow, got injured, too, so it's looking pretty dire.)

The team itself isn't that bad. The goalscorers are AWOL, especially on the power play, but the defense and goaltending, aside from the Latvia game, have been sound. Of course now that I've said that, they'll lose 10-1 to Russia on Tuesday.

Bunch of no name hacks. It is unacceptable to only score 3 and 4 goals against Latvia and Kazakhstan. Also 1 goal against Slovakia? Not to mention it was a knuckle puck. Pathetic. We have only given up 6 goals but we have only scored 8 which is unacceptable considering the talent level of the other nations.


Edit: We lost 2-1 to Sweden today. Just found that out.
