I know I shared with a few of you over time that I had a cat named Zola, so I though it only fitting to let you know.

I'm very sad to share with you that he passed on early this morning after complications from a heart murmur and diabetes arose.

He was an absolute sweetheart, and one of the coolest cats to ever live. And he will be missed horrible by me.

This past weekend was easily one of the worst in my life so far. :(

i'm sorry riz. I have a cat as well and i don't know what i would do if he passed away. I've had many cats in my life and it's not easy to lose one, especially if you are very attached to them. But i know you will get over this, and possibly find a new Zola, who you'll love even more.

Ah bless ya.

Bummer about the cat, they can be so friendly when you need a......friend.

Personally, I prefer dogs myself though.

I like both, though cats have always been easier for me with the apartment living and all.

Zola was really special - he hated my ex, and hated just about everyone but me, heh. I'm really gonna miss him.

I can tolerate a cat, to a degree.

Nothing like having a great big German shepherd greet unwanted guests at the door.

....except, what I have....TWO of them :D

I love dogs. Cats are just too aloof and finicky. They don't need you. If you just leave some food somewhere, that's all your cat needs. What's the fun in that? Its an eating and sleeping machine. I've already got one of those - me!

I was truly honored that I was someone whom he allowed to enter his inner circle. :(

I have lived in a family that has loads of pets. So I am a little pragmatic when it comes to the death of one. I don't think my dog, a Belguim Shepard called Rasta who lives with my folks is gonna make it much longer to be fair.

Death comes to all things and allthough it is a shame, its natural. I remember we had a cat when I was about 14 and it had some kind of tumor in its head, which they tried to treat at the vet's. However my dad went to the US on business and the cat went nuts, started running in circles banging its head off the wall. This being late at night and with my mum and sister obviously distressed, something had to be done. I called my dad, and he told me to throw a towel over it and take it to the garage away from my mum and sister. They had no idea what I was doing, but I had to come in afterwards and explain that I would bury it the next morning, should either one want to say a few words. They were a bit shocked in the morning when they saw the spade I was about to dig the hole with was covered in blood.

I was three or four. I decided our dog, Spot, wanted a collar. So being an enterprising sort I made one. Out of wire. I was only trying to help. But no-one noticed the new 'collar' until it was too late.

I still feel guilty thirty odd years on. RIP Spot.
