It looks like we've been given permission to sign a loan deal for a new keeper, since Ruddy is the only one available for our next game. Some of the US people are saying that Moyes is shopping in America.

Any ideas of who we will/should get?

We were shopping Mark Crossley in the transfer window for a loan deal I believe...

He's Premiership quality and experienced to boot, couldn't hurt...

Crossley??? god hope not, hes pushing 40.

In all honesty we now have 2 weeks before our next match, i reckon we should try to get turners red card reduced to a yellow and see how Wright comes along.

The teams in Miami at the mo and Moyes had said that hell sign someone when he gets back.

Couls also be Paul Jones

tbh i reckon it would be someone like that. Only as a pay as you play deal tho not worth anything more as hell be sent back after a month or so.

Wright is gonna be out for 6 weeks now  dozy twonk

Well, don't forget that the DC United backup keeper, Troy Perkins, has already trained with Everton this season...I can't imagine how the guy would get a WP (unless he's got some family ties I am unaware of), and I don't really think he's Prem quality (he's a serviceable MLS keeper, but no star). But stranger things have happened...

So first we didn't have any forwards ... then we were short on central defenders ... now we're down to our fourth-choice goalkeeper.

Who says it's boring being an Evertonian? :)

Yeah, Troy Perkins between the pipes for Everton would certainly not be boring...

Looks like we're in for Arsenal's Mart Poom (http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,,1709183,00.html)

I love this:

Everton
Everton won't be allowed to sign a new 'keeper. David Moyes was right when he insinuated there is one rule for Everton and one rule for everyone else. Tim Cahill was sent off for celebrating a goal against Man City by taking his shirt off. Yet members of the Fulham team celebrated in an identical fashion last Saturday and nothing happened. Also, Cahill was again charged by the FA this season for an incident against Newcastle because they said "the ref hadn't seen it" even though the ref had actually spoken to Cahill about the incident at the time! Ferguson gets an additional 4 match ban for pushing a player after being sent-off against Wigan, yet Arsenal's Lehman pushes a Bolton player to the ground last weekend and nothing happens. Nobody likes us and we don't care....but it's too much when it spills over into bias from the actual FA themselves! Kieran Doyle

Fulham manager, Chris Coleman has given permission to Everton boss David Moyes to take Mark Crossley on a one month loan deal to ease The Toffee's keeper crisis.

Everton have been given permission by the Premier League to sign an emergency goalkeeper on loan before their next match at Newcastle in a fortnight.

The Merseysiders had Nigel Martyn recovering from an ankle injury and Richard Wright out for six weeks with ligament damage before they had rookie keeper Iain Turner sent off after just nine minutes of Saturday's remarkable 1-0 win over Blackburn.

Turner will serve a one-match ban after being sent off for handling the ball outside the penalty area, which leaves manager David Moyes with just teenager John Ruddy - who made his debut as Turner's replacement - as his only available senior goalkeeper.

Everton spokesman said "We are close to securing Mark Crossley on a one month loan deal from Fulham which will give the manager options for the forthcoming game with Newcastle United". It is understood Chris Coleman can recall Crossley before the 2 teams meet at Goodison Park in just under a month's time.

Meanwhile The Blues are currently enjoying a break in the fixtures with a trip to Florida.

Everton have signed 19 year Icelandic keeper Thordor Ingason...

He's still at the Academy though...

So, like, what is the status here? We haven't signed anyone as backup for Ruddy yet, have we? I mean, I know they were in Florida for the week, but it seems like kind of a big deal...

Phil Neville is great at playing out of position and everything (does he actually have a position?) but I really don't want to see him putting on the gloves should Ruddy get hurt this weekend.

I have this terrible feeling that maybe our transfer karma is so bad that even with special exemption in hand we won't even be able to sign a backup keeper on a short term loan deal. They'll probably find some crazy FA loophole to send somebody to Newcastle or Norwich instead...

Looks like Ingason or someone will have to put on a shirt for the match...wouldn't that be something if it came down to him having to come in. I dunno how I sould feel.

Yeah, that's not exactly what I would call a solution...at least not a good one. But I suppose it would be better than Phil Neville in goal. I think.

Ingason was signed during the transfer window and has been at us for a few weeks.

We wont be signing anyone decent for obvious reasons, itll be someone like Poom or Crossley. Moyes will sort it out, it wont be a big deal to get a keeper simple phone to a prem club prob for there 3rd or 4th choice keeper for a months loan.
