Whoops - read the thread, must have missed it. Not like he doesn't merit being mentioned twice however. :D

Lev Yashin started his career at Tushino Moscow, for whom he played from 1944 to 1947. Yashin began to play for Dynamo Moscow in 1947, however that was not the same Dynamo Moscow as the famous one (which he joined in 1950), they shared the same name and were "sponsored" both by the ministry of the interior, but were not the same club.

Thank you much. The enlightment you provide is one of the reasons I frequent these boards.

Thank you very much. Got a couple of football history books during the last 20 years which allow me to be Mr. wise guy from time to time. ;)

I know it's a bit early, but I'm pretty sure Jamie Carragher would rather die than play for another team than Liverpool.
i think gerrard was at liverpool since the trainee level.. and ledley king too..

I can't believe no one has mentioned Karl-Heinz "Charly" Körbel. Record holder for most Bundesliga games played (602, between 1972-1991), all for Eintracht Frankfurt.

Bobby Charlton finished his career at Preston North End.
Cobi Jones played for Coventry City and in Brazil.
Kevin Hartman is at Kansas City this season.
Keeping this in perspective, it is not hard to find players who were one club prior to 1945.
finding famous and successful player who have do so AFTER 1980 is something else.
Bayern Munich (1976 - 1991) Captain Klaus Augenthaler is one that comes to mind.

Karl-Heinz "Charly" Körbel
He played a record amount of 602 Bundesliga games between 72 and 91. No one else comes close to that number.
Every single one was for Eintracht Frankfurt.
He won 4 german Cups and a European Cup here, playing 731 official games alltogether...
The man is a legend!
At least in germany there is no way around him when you talk about "one-club-men"...
