Servette has not had a good mid-season break. First Senderos signs with Arsenal (her will finish out the spring season), Frei goes to Rennes, now Sébastien Fournier is going to be out for the over three months due to surgery. Not the best of way to open a new stadium and push for a UEFA spot.

Finally some good news for Servette. Slavisa Dugic, the goal scormin phenom will leave SC Kriens for the Geneva side. Dugic scored three goals for the U-18 side in a recent tournamnet in Egypt. This is to help offset the departure of Alexender Frei, who left for Stade Rennes.

A little more good news. Servette finished second in the Kings Cup an indoor soccer tournamnet in Geneva. They lost to sporting Lisbon 6-4 (where was the defence, I hope they find someone to replace senderos). The other two teams were Espanyol of Barcelona and Dynamo Bucharest. Don't take too much stock in this result though, it is indoor.

I always thought that Dugic signed for Inter. Did the transfer collapse because of his young age?

It is official, Slavisa Dugic is a member of Servette. He will start out with the junior team, them progress to the starting team.

A little more good news. Servette has aquired José Antonio Martins from Brazil on a six month contract. He is a former youth international, and is 23 years old. In his first game for Servette, he scored less than a minute into the game, against Lausanne Sport. This is obviously to try and ease the loss of Alexandre Frei. Only time will tell...

Hmmm....looks like Servette is trying real hard to compensate for Frei. I am def. curious about this Brazilian guy...

Senderos is out for at least six weeks. He suffered a stress fracture in his fifth metatarsal on his right foot. That keeps him out of the Swiss Cup Match, and probatly the first few games of the LNA final round. Ouch! Just as it seemed things were starting to be good for Servette...

On a positive note, recently signed José Antonio Martins scored for his second game in a row. Servette beat Sion 1-0.
