You don't change your system in the middle of a season. And our system has work well for us this season.

And are system has balance which is very important.

Oh well, I would like to see all three upfront anyway. Think they could do some serious damage. Think we should just play with 12, that wont upset the balance....:D

I think you could go with three up top without 3 at the back though...

Stalteri----King----Dawson----Lee
---Jenas----Carrick----Davids
---Defoe----Mido----Keane

I personally think our midfield talent fits better in this system as none of them are wide players. Lennon becomes a forward (on the wing), and you have plenty of depth in the midfield. Not to mention that you become more flexible if you go down or up a goal.

Say you're down...bring in Lennon for Stalteri and go 3-4-3. If you're up, Tainio for Defoe and you're 4-4-2.

This system is weak down the wings though, and with our fullbacks, I don't know if you'd want to expose them like that. You really need all world fullbacks in this system. They provide the width in the attack, and they have to control the wingers of the other team as well. This is how teams beat Barca's 4-3-3. Counterattacks down the wings...or they wait for Valdes to kick the ball to them for an easy goal.

If you had Zambrotta and Ashley Cole, this would be perfect...but with Stalteri and Lee, you're going to get opened up because your center backs will constantly be pulled out of position.

Three up front would have to be a tactic adapted to a certain adversary or for when we're a goal down in a cup competition with half an hour to go. It couldn't be the formation we choose week-in week-out. Clubs would just figure it out within a week and exploit our weaknesses in other areas of the pitch.

Having said so much, I've always thought that Robbie Keane was perfectly suited to play in the hole. If we could get the midfield/defense mix right behind them, our three strikers would be devastating.

The only chance of 3 upfront would be played at home where we usually dominate teams.

I'd also play Keane behind Mido and Defoe.

Or if not Keane, then i'd play Murphy behind the front two.

We had Mido, Defoe & Keane on the pitch in the second half against West Brom last season, the game ended 1-1 after we went 1-0 down.
