I was wondering if any club has won the treble (league, league cup and CONCACAF club championship in the same year)?

no league cup in CR...... I'll love to see a cup here, saprissa won the CCC, second in the CRL and third in the WC, our best year. 1,2,3 trifecta, but not a triple crown :(

These are the 3 titles CSD Municipal won in 1974.

*Guatemalan League Champion.

*Central american Fraternity Cup champion.

*CONCACAF Champion.

They were also Interamerican Cup finalist the same year, but lost to Independiente of Argentina :( .

Treble and triple are both fine.

Mexico has no domestic cup either, right? So that severely limits the chances of a team to do it.

A Canadian club could officially (but not logically) do it if they went to CCC.

Whatever league they're in, open canada cup, concacaf cup. But Canada doesn't have a CCC spot for some reason.

Obviously an American team could. Bermuda and T&T have cups, Surinam and Jamaica have some form of cup aswell.

So Municipal is the only team to have a triple?

if the *Central american Fraternity Cup champion.(mickey mouse tourny)
is valid, i think Municipal fans can be proud of being the only concacaf with a treble, triple, trifecta, pick3, triplecrown, tripleta or whatever the name is... i guess i should say congrats.... :D

A treble/triple is any three trophies in one season.

The treble/triple is the CONCACAF Champions Cup, domestic league, and domestic cup titles.

The treble/triple is the CONCACAF Champions Cup, domestic league, and domestic cup titles. If Guatemala didn't have a domestic cup in 1974 then substituting the "Central American Fraternity Cup" (whatever that is) might be reasonable.

Does anyone claim that the "Central American Fraternity Cup" was an inferior cup to the theoretical Guatemalan cup in 1974?

If Guatemala had a domestic cup in 1974 or if "Central American Fraternity Cup" was an inferior to a domestic cup then CSD Municipal 1974 shouldn't count. Otherwise GTfußball makes a reasonable argument.

We didnt have domestic cup in 1974 until the late 70s.

Here's a recap. There has been 40 CONCACAF Champions Cup. The winners are:

Mexico - 21 wins (but no league cup)

Costa Rica 6 wins (but no league cup)

El Salvador - 3 wins (CD Fas 1979, CD Aguila 1976, Alianza 1967) Does anyone have any info on their league and league cup?

Haiti - 2 wins (Violette 1984, Racing Club Haitien 1963) Does anyone have any info on their league and league cup?

Honduras - 2 wins (Olimpia 1988, 1972) Does anyone have any info on their league and league cup?

Surinam - 2 wins (SV Transvall 1981, 1973) Does anyone have any info on their league and league cup?

United States - 2 wins (I already looked this one up. Neither DC or LA won it all.)

Guatemala - 1 win (Municipal 1974 - discussed above)

Trinidad and Tobago - (Delta Force 1985) Does anyone have any info on their league and league cup?

Cruz Azul won the following in 1969:

League 1968/69
Copa Mexico 1968/69
Campeon de Campeones 1969
Concacaf 1969

League and Cup winners usually played a game betweent the two shortly after the regular season. When a club won both in the same year, it was called Campeonisimo. The Super Cup (or Campeon de Campeones) use to be a big event in Mexico. Those games used to pack in stadiums. Those games use to pack in more people in the stadium than a Concacaf or even Interamericana Cup.

The concacaf cup was delayed for a while because many clubs in Mexico were playing against international teams and our NT was also playing many friendlies. The World Cup was going to be hosted in Mexico so many foreign teams wanted to play against Mexican teams. The Cup was played on the 18th and 30th of December. They drew 0-0 in Guatemala against Comunicaciones and Cruz Azul won 1-0 in Mexico.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Mexico no longer has a Cup tournament. The creation of the liguilla (1970) or playoff really killed the Cup in Mexico. There were many factors that eventually led to its end, but that was the primary reason. Atleast many think so. The last Cup was played in 1997.

I was forwarded the website www.rsssf.com. I reviewed all the info that they have and the 1969 Cruz Azul team is the only CONCACAF treble winners.

Good luck to all the teams that will be playing in this years CONCACAF Club Championship.
