For the RW Pennant perhaps Lennon. It's amazing Pennant has done nearly everything he can to ruin his career but he's probably less an a year away from an England call-up and move back to a big club.

I think Gerrard will go to right mid if Beckham is out, so there may not be a need for a direct SWP replacement.

Jenas will probably be the one as he's been in good form at right mid and can cover in the centre.

Do you really need a replacement for an 85th minute sub?

Edit: Oh and btw, am I the only one who thinks that Jermaine Jenas has absolutely no influence on a game? Every Spurs match I watch he seems nearly invisible.

SWP has done nothing this season to earn a World Cup place.

No you're not alone but it is a false assumption . Doesn't deserve as many caps as he as though and shouldn't go to the world cup either imo.

He hasn't done anything to lose it either.

No one else has played well enough to take the spot from him on the wing. What's the point of bringing Jenas when he's no more a RW than Beckham is?

SWP can't shoot, can't cross, can't pass and can't control the ball.

James Morrison

Or sorry no - he doesn't play for a cockney team or Liverpool/Manchester United.

My bad.

Hmm SWP can't shoot? Didn't he score cracker after cracker for City?

I'm starting to wonder whether you're Cobra's alter ego.

I said about a month ago that I like Morrison, but for a 19 year old from a severly underperforming team to be given a World Cup slot he'd have to be impressing a lot more than he is at the moment.

Ay... True. But let's be honest, we could back in 6th and he still wouldn't get a look in.

If he was a major reason for you being sixth, he might. Lets see if Nolan gets a look - he's been in very good form.

He won't Barton and NRC would have a much better chance imo. If Sven rated Nolan he would of called him up already.

We'll see. I don't think Barton is all that special; he's the next Danny Murphy. Good at running a small club, poor when asked to perform a specific role for a club with better players.

I don't think Barton is all that special either but neither is Nolan imo. If Nolan was to get the call under Sven it probably would have happened already.
