I have had an offer of sponsor tickets from one of my vendors. My contact says they aren't putting individual names on sponsor tickets. Is this true? It just came as a surprise to me.

From what I been told, most of the brokers are selling sponser tickets, because there is no name on the ticket. How they aquire them I don't know. With all the fuss FIFA is making over the secondary market for tickets why would they put them into the hands of sponser who then turn them over to brokers for a profit?

In 2002 sponsor tickets had just the company name on them. I bought two for the Denmark-France game outside the stadium and noticed that when I was checking that the tickets weren't fake.
I'd say grab them while you can. If you can't go you'll be able to sale them without any problems ;)

No names on sponsor tickets. I have a friend who works for a sports hospitality company, and that's exactly what they're selling.

They buy them from sponsers (I thought that was obvious).
Anheiser Busch (just to choose one sponser) is given a block of tickets for being a sponser. They will not use them all, so they sell the remainder on to ticket brokers, who then sell them on to the public at inflated prices.

So FIFA has no problem letting sponsers scalp tickets, but for individuals its a big no-no.

It's not so much that FIFA has no problem with it as it is that FIFA has no way of stopping it.

Just out of curiosity can you tell us who the sponsor is?
