Mexico and Brazil's record since 2001 speaks for itself,

Mexico 1:0 (0:0) Brazil (FIFA Confederations Cup Germany 2005)
Mexico 0:4 (0:1) Brazil (Copa America 2004)
Brazil 0:1 (0:0) Mexico (CONCACAF Gold Cup 2003 USA/Mexico)
Mexico 1:0 (0:0) Brazil (CONCACAF Gold Cup 2003 USA/Mexico)
Mexico 0:0 Brazil (Friendly 2003)
Brazil 0:1 (0:0) Mexico (Copa America 2001)
Mexico 3:3 (1:0) Brazil (Friendly 2001)

Yeah i don't think even the Argentinians have a better record against the champs as of late.

The Mexicans are so technically sound. But I would have though that Brasil creativeness would have broken it down for some goals....

Damn, If Brasil Creativeness can't break it down Portugal is going to have some work to do....

the thing with mexico is that we play great against top teams , but we play horrible against crappy ones.

i really don't know much about portugal , but i heard that they don't play like other european teams so their style of play could be similar to ours.

Copa America, gold cup and confed cup, tournaments usually used by teams like Brazil as practice matches, opportunities to play with new players, they're not taken that seriously.

In the World Cup, Brazil would thrash Mexico without even thinking about it.

- I dont agree with you leg breaker. When i saw the Confederation Cup Brasil had all of their starters but one. And they do take all of the other cups seriousley because i wouldnt think they go and waste their time just practicing or testing some player(Well in that i do agree they test players in some cups but Confederation cups i dont think so)

Is that the latest excuse for Mexico's record against the US?

- I think that is the excuse" lol"- Both the US and Mexico are allright.
Mexico wins in Mexico.
US wins in US.

For the latest Confed. Cup, you are right, it was a very close to full Brazil team (Ronaldo, R. Carlos, and Cafu were missing). But we have used the Confed. Cup as experimental in the past. We have even used the Copa America as a competition to experiment with the team (the most recent one didn't have any regular starters at that time).

It's not wasted time. That's how we find new players for the team. Putting them in these competitions is better than a friendly.

All we really care about is the World Cup. Copa America is a distant second and the rest is just to try out new players or us it as practice for the team.

Mexico 0:0 Brazil (Friendly 2003)
Brazil 0:1 (0:0) Mexico (Copa America 2001)
Mexico 3:3 (1:0) Brazil (Friendly 2001)

Out of those wins, the only one that would stand out to me is the last one in the Confed. Cup where we had a pretty full team. I still think we should have won that game. We weren't really outplayed.

The Gold Cup defeats were with the U-23 team if I am not mistaken. The loss in Copa America 2001, we were terrible and deserved to lose. that team was having a lot of dificulties. We crashed out of the competition losing to Honduras.

If we meet Mexico in the WC, I am confident we will beat them.

This Confed Cup was the only one in which we played with our "A" squad.

The best we can hope for while playing Brazill is to discover some weekness in their game and capitalize to win , But whoever plays Brazil after that can be assured that Brazil will be 10 times better . Brazil usually starts off slow in group play, but by the time they get in gear they are without a doubt the best team in the World.

....well if you beat us in the WC, it will mean that we either finished 2nd or 4th...in other case, it would suck losing, but objective would have been met.

No offence not Mexico but the Confederations was a fluke, we completly dominated the game and Mexico's goal came from one of Mexico's very few chances on goal after that Mexico went into a defensive shell.

anyways hopefully we'l meet in the cup

I disagree I think the match was even but Mexico ended up winning because they were playing better as a team....it could have maybe been 2-0 if somebody esle would've shot the penalty kick in the first half...

so that means every team has "Brazil's number" except when they play in the WC?

i didn't know Brazil had lost that many times...
