...I watched a bit of Teddy's interview with Sky sports and it shocked and saddened me, then it made me think why would he not want to finish his career a lillywhite?

probably just wants to play. with keans, defoe and mido he'd be 4th choice.

I wouldn't have moved either.
He has a much greater chance of playing at Upton Park.
Good for him. I'm going to retire at the age of 30.

No big deal really. I am surprised Spurs went for him, maybe it was to include a coaching role as well.
I wouldn't be too shocked if he came back when he retires, but purely in a coaching role.

No big loss. I am much happer to see Barnard given a shot as a 4th striker than have old man Teddy. I've seen him play a few times this season - he still has a good first touch as well as a few special flicks and passes, but he's just not mobile enough for our purposes. I'd welcome him back as a coach, though.

For ********'s sake, he's fourty years old!!
Despite being a Spurs favourite, if not legend, what good can he be at this age?!

Forty, you say?
Oh, he'll finish his career in a white kit.
A Bolton kit, that is. :D

..my point is not about him being a 40 yr old player at all. It's the fact that he should want to finish up with us, and want to be a coach for us. Just speculating on the last part.
..I don't care that we missed out on him as a player, as he won't get a game. But I just felt he would have more ties w/Spurs. romantic notion of a Spurs fan. Cheers.

...with the way he's going, none of us will be alive to see it.

The funny thing is I wouldn't be surprised at all... :D
Pompey could sign him too - for next year in the 1st division.
