I didn't mention the other reasons because I didn't find anything wrong with them in particular. However it was stupid of you to bring up the two wars, Hitler and the people who elected him. i already explained why that's wrong. And I'm sympathetic towards your family, I've had family too that was killed in previous wars, but I don't hold anything against the nations that did right now because it's unethtical and ignorant.
Germans are trying to get over past events but people like you are going to keep hanging it over them, don't you think thats wrong? and i'm not talking about someone getting out of jail, because that's not what you were referring to at first, we are talking about a whole people, not one single person. Who knows though, a convict for you might just be the same as little Franzie from Frankfurt who is completely innocent and has nothing to do with any of his country's events.
I don't hate Germany as a nation whatsoever. Nor do I hate German people. Well, I don't hate most of them. (I used to have a gf who is half-German). I think the whole thing started with me mentioning the fact that I often root against German teams and athletes during Olympics if there is no one to cheer for. You asked me why, I gave you a lot of reasons. You may think some are valid more than others, for me every single reason is valid, some more important than others. You think Hitler was a genious and Germans had no idea what was coming, which means they can't be blamed - well, I think ignorance is not an excuse.

I suggest you do a little more research on this subject because you're completely off with this one. Look up Leni Riefenstahl and Joseph Goebbles and maybe then you'll understand a bit more what I'm talking about.

The Bloc is back, dude.
Actually, the men's Cross Country pursuit was an AWESOME race (Estonia's medal was in the women's); this guy at the front fell at the very beginning, so he came out of the gates almost last, and worked his way back to second place. It was really cool. The women's race was, um, okay. But, you know, Go Estonia.

when i sat down with Bruce Arena and that bald assistant of his to watch an arsenal/spurs match.. i of course brought this up to him.. his response "it wasnt A handball" then gave me that sly grin and raised eyebrow..
something about if the ref doesnt see it, then it must not be true.
pretty classy response i guess.
As the ref who reffed Pele's last Cosmo's match told me...
"When the ref is right, the ref is right. When the ref is wrong, the ref is right."
Ah, so true... so frustratingly true...

That was indeed a great race, but at the same time him falling down screwed up a bunch of other racers, so in that way I didn't have a lot of sympathy for the guy. Good comeback though.

I was gutted over the curling loss for the Men's team yesterday to Finland. Glad to see they bounced back today by trouncing the Kiwis.

Hockey is on tomorrow, and of course, everything will be shown when normal people actually have to work. TiVo will work overtime.

It was men's figure skating, women's speed skating, and a great downhill racing final. Bode Miller got disqualified, but some American unknown (to me) ended up winning the gold. I love it when the underdog wins. :D

I have to admit I am really getting into the afternoon curling matches. :o Although both US teams are pretty poor, still its shockingly fun to watch, once you figure out what's going on.

I love to watch curling at the Olympics. The only problem is that in the intervening four years I forget how the game is played so I have to re-learn it.

For the most past that is true. But, I being West Indian don't care much for it. Instead I love soccer.
