Women's hockey was a bit entertaining today, as was the luge. I'm looking forward to the men's hockey getting started though.

If there is no one to root for, I'd usually root against Germany. Lots of reasons to not like them, and their traditional out-********in-standing penalty shooting against England in World Cups is one of them.
But as long as Russians are participating, there is always someone to root for.
And cross-country skiing is waay more exciting to watch than I expected.

And he's not even trying. He almost looked bored when he did the frontside 1080, switch 1080, frontside 900, backside 900 run.

Well, there was WWI. Then, if that's not enough, there was WWII. And Hitler for that matter, too. Then, there was Munich. Feb 6, 1958. And the plane was cleared for take-offs despite a heavy snowstorm. Then, there was WC1990. And Germany beat England in semifinals. Penalties. Then, there was Euro 1996. England was destined to win. And Germany ********ed that destiny. Penalties.
MU did win in 1999. That was sweet. But. We lost to Bayern in 2001. 2 games. In a row. And over the past 35 or so years we won once in Germany. What is there to like? MU also lost to something called Leverkusen. In 2002 iirc. Without actually losing a single game.
And hey, remember the first season of 24? That bitch Nina was German. And she tried to kill Jack Bauer. And his wife died because of her.
Lots of reasons not to like Germany.

Yeah, that was just his comfortable run to get into the finals. Can't wait to see his finals run.

What is a concrete reason for you then? And which part of my post was a fantasy? Not sure about Nina (she did speak German), but the rest are the things that actually happened.
With your logic there seems nothing is worth disliking in the world. Even Mourinho.

doesn't it seem somewhat unreasonable to dislike a German team now because of two world wars that are totally unrelated? from your logic you should hate every German because they were responsible for the Holocaust.
Oh yea, and the Munich event just happened with be in Munich, if the plane went down in Prague would you hate all Czechs?

First of all, I don't hate Germany. I don't like German teams for a bunch of reasons, most of them sports-related. And the wars just add up to that. After all, Germans voted for Hitler to bring him into power. There are also other political issues, which I personally hold against German government (such as handling of terrorist situation with Israeli hostages during Munich Olympics).
Second of all, the reasons I listed for disliking them are just that - reasons. If England lost to France in semifinals of the world cup and then again in Euro Cup, and then lost to a bunch of French teams trying to win a CL title, I would've disliked France more than I dislike Germany.
That's the nature of a fan, isn't it? There are teams you like, teams that you don't care about, and teams that you don't like, enjoy every time they lose and is extremely happy when your team beats a crap out of them. Germany is just one of those teams for me.
