I'm still kinda miffed from all the de-funning that the last "System Upgrade" (from Big Soccer ) did. I'm trying to decide whether or not to re-up in April... I initially was thinking "No" but lately my thinking is that I am on these boards every single mother ********ing day of my life so why not support them? I don't know...

Anyone else in the same predicament?

PS - This is a private poll so that no one will get in trouble... And, even though I shouldn't have to say this, this is obviously only for the "Premium" members...

Somewhat. I hate that they can't have three days go by without a significant outage, and that the supposed small bugs in the system have been going on for a while now. At the same time though, its a good community and overall a great site. When the time comes, if these issues are still going on, I may opt for a shorter membership period and see how it goes.

Of course. Regardless of the outages/etc, I still sit on this site every day and I'm glad to help pay the bandwith costs.

I'm re-upping my membership whenever they send me the info in the next 30 days or so... as it's usually around my birthday when it's time to renew. I'm not thrilled by the outages, but they claim that they are doing some massive behind the scenes changes right now with server upgrades and whatnot. They are apparently doing all this now so as to be ready for World Cup. I have to give them credit for not waiting till the last second for that, btw.

Yeah, problems seems to creep up every few months, but board outages from a few minutes one day or less than a full day every 2 or 3 months isn't enough to drive me away personally.

I'll be renewing mine. If you don't like some problems, go live in a cave.

I'm probably going to re-up but I'm not happy about it tbh. When I pay money for something I expect it to work right. I wonder if it would be feasible to drop the membership to like $10 in the hope that more people would be members and thus ease the load. Because I know there are a significant amount of premium members but I'm sure if there was a big increase in membership it would help the site alot, especially in terms of advertisement.

I'm not sure about net advertising but telling a company that 35,000 people pay to use your website and are thus motivated to be there often is alot more impressive than 50,000 people not paying and as such there being no guarantee that they'd ever see the ad.

How many members does BS have?

How many members does BS have?According to the front page of BS, we have 71,848 members. But I think that's members like me, ie freeloaders. And I would be willing to bet many of those are people that signed up and looked around once or whatever.

I wonder how many paying members there are? I wonder how many people access the site everyday? I wonder. . .

Same way I feel. I appreciate that they're adding servers in anticipation of the increase in traffic they expect this summer. But starting this early, while a good idea, means they should've done things incrementally to avoid so many service interruptions. It's not the worst thing though, and I assume it'll get better.

My membership is up next week. Do they send you a notice or anything?

My membership is up next week. Do they send you a notice or anything?Yes, they'll send you an email to your account's email address. Actually I would've thought they had already sent it. They do not do automatic renewals.

I think everyone interpreted my comments on the last "System Upgrade" to mean that I was unhappy with the outtages that BS has had. Let me be clear - I was in no way whatsoever talking about the server downtime. I own x domains and operate y number of websites; that's just going to happen.

The changes that I was referring to are the reputation system being "taken away", the loss of the post count display, and a few of the other niggling things they "stole" from us lol. Minor stuff, really, but $35 is minor too...

was there a point in taking away post numbers and rep's and stuff like that?
