There are football supporters, and there are Millwall supporters. Theo Paphitis told me of a letter he had received recently from an ordinary fan, which seemed, upon first reading, to be in support of his various, modernising changes. The fan suggested a plan to increase the number of women attending matches, based upon the Ladies' Day event at Ascot. And then the supporter went and ruined it all by adding, as a postscript, that Theo could call it the Millwall Bring-a-Bitch Scheme: "Get your bitch in for a quid."
