Anyone trying? If so how are you planning to pay? I don't have a MasterCard or German bank account, so if it's first come first serve how are we going to do a bank transfer right away?

I am interested to hear more details from FIFA. We have a mastercard and are looking for two tickets to any US game. This is going to be nuts with people from all around the globe applying at once. Something has to go wrong for some people (just hope it is not me!). I think it will simply be first come first serve on application so you should be ok.

Yeah, I bet the servers crash. I hope you're right about the application and we won't need to worry about the bank transfer thing until we get confirmation that our order went through.

Anyone know if these are individual games and therefore TST holders from previous phases are ineligible?

I don't know for sure, but I think that is the case. Maybe try using a friend's name and address.
I don't know anything more than anyone else here, but I reckon things will go down as follows:
I think that this phase will have a small # of tickets (returns from sponsors, any from national associations, and whatever tickets may have been freed up from other avenues) available at the start. Then, after those are snatched up, there will be a small # of tickets trickling out from people who did not pay for theirs from the last phase (I am mainly thinking of bank transfers that didn't go through). I believe you had two weeks to pay if you did bank transfer. So, seeing as how the confirmation emails were going out on Friday (the 3rd?) these tickets will start becoming available on the 17th or later. I think it will be a very similar scenario as happened back in August, I believe it was, with the returns from phase I.. refreshfest. Bottom line is that you will have to be lucky and vigilant to get tickets this time.

we'll have to wait and see, but I actually get the impression that a chunk of tickets were held back for this 4th phase or there'd be little point having it. The FIFA site says 72% have been allocated so far (at the end of the third phase), which appears to include sponsors, hospitality etc. I do doubt that this phase will see 28% up for grabs, but I don't think it'll be a trickle either.
As for servers crashing, I tried logging into to the ticket shop the other night and I think I hit them doing a test. What I got was a screen saying "server busy, try again later" but rather than being able to just repeatedly hit F5, it had a 30 second countdown before you could re-try. Hit F5 too early and the clock reset to 30 seconds.
It does look like just getting into the ticket shop page will be just as much of a lottery as phases 1 and 3 through.

Very interesting indeed, and thanks for the info. The people in the thread on this topic in the World Cup 2006 fans and travel forum are also under the impression that some tickets have been held over for sale in this phase. I hope this is the case, but there won't be many tickets to be had...

There are tickets set aside from FIFA. My guess is probably somewhere around 15 percent or so. Who knows for sure though. Should be an interesting phase.

Crossing fingers that I get something from this phase. Servers did crash in Korea, but it looks like they might have learned from that.
So...what time will they go on sale in the U.S.?

Well at least, with the WC not being in Korea this time around, the consequences of losing a dog fight aren't as dire.

With the update on FIFA's website, I am now preparing for an early Wednesday morning. My take from their wording is that since it is first come they will be compiling a list of people. They will then dispense tickets set aside and everyone else will be waitlisted and their orders filled as more tickets come in. FIFA states that more tickets will be available later in the phase as returns and extras come in. This is my assumption; does anyone have any other ideas?

I'm a bank transfer away from getting the US-Ghana ticket. However, since I'm going to be in Nuremberg for a week and have a new Mastercard, can I apply for another game or is there a one application per household rule that I would be violating?

can anyone tell me WHERE on the fifa website the ticket application is??
also... if they are accepting orders at noon on the 15th, does that mean we have to hit the SEND button at 6am here on the 15th???
anyone have ANY info on this?

Phase 2 worked like this:
There was a list of teams and if there were tickets available they were in green font. Yellow font for close to sold out, and red for no tickets available.
You clicked on the team, and then picked the number of games you wanted to see.
That took you (after a very long wait) to a form that you put all of the personal information into including the payment.
You sent the form and got a confirmation email that it was received.
Much later you get confirmation that the payment went through and you get tickets.
Make sure you have:
CC information (Master Card only) or bank transfer info
passport numbers
everyone's name, birthday, address, etc
email address
Basically the same info that was put on the USSF form
Not all of the tickets are available at the beginning. Sometimes the team would turn red, then back to green. Likely because tickets couldn't be paid for, the info doesn't match right, etc.
There were US TST's that showed up weeks after the start of phase 2. It was also a "First come first served" style.
Hope this helps.
Keep the refresh button ready.

No Mastercard here. What bank transfer info was required on the form?
In order for me to process an international wire transfer, I would need:
- Name and address of recieving institution
- Recieving banks ABA number
- Recievers account number and name on the account
Is this supplied on the form or sent later?
Thanks,
Alan

They will send you an email with the information you will need if you get tickets.
