On Sunday we meet the "Geißböcke" in Cologne ... if we win it (what I hope) we keep in touch with the upper 6 of the league ...

And we can't forget we will meet Bremen next .. so we really need this points.

this is going to be harder than our last match plus we will be playing as an away team

Looking back at our first three opponents of this return leg, I guess Cologne has a better striker pair than all of them. Streller is on run and Podolski has the potential to make any defense work hard for their money.

Good assessment!!! We really do need these three points!

However, call me stupid, but I think we're going to take Bremen......... ;)

Although we contained Podolski well in the first meeting, I totally agree with your assessment. Streller is playing in hopes of a permanent move out of Stuttgart and we just never know when we'll start seeing the "Pre-Confed Cup" Lukas Podolski.

However, I think if we can get a goal out of Rosicky and maybe Gambino or Ebi, we'll either win 2-1 or draw 2-2. I don't think we'll give up anymore than two goals.

And Koln's defense isn't the greatest.......... :D

Hell yeah, I have seen highlights of their away match in Frankfurt in the first half of the season. That was ********ing unbelievable. Even I would have scored in that match. ;-)

One question: Are you a BVB supporter and where are you from (actually that are two questions ;-).?

first things first: my two favorite teams happen to be the ones we'll see on sunday in muengersdorf - my goats and bvb! as they rank for me in this order, feel free to hate me now...
and: i am originally from munich of all places, but have been living in the us for a long time now (new york, currently).
having come out of the closet, the question remains: is the game gonna be on one of the internet channels on sunday?

Looks like that match won't be on CCTV5 or anywhere else:

Maybe you wait for footyfan1's answer as he is USA-based like you and more into internet streaming schedules and such things. As I live in Germany, I mostly watch BVB matches at my favourite sports bar.

You're all right by me. I used to love watching Toni Polster play myself. Also had a great time with a bunch of 1. FC Koln fans after a 2. Liga match in Nuernberg some years back.

I'm originally from two hours south of NYC. I'm from Philadelphia.

Not known as of yet, but I don't expect it to be. Why not use BVB NetRadio??

...the bvb live stream brought me bad luck the last time around...don't appreciate the okoooonkooooooooor orgasms of their reporters too much when bvb plays the goats!
hennes:)
p.s.: you should all sympathize with a bavarian exiled by the bayern regime! i'll return only after hoeness, rummenigge & friends have been brought to justice...

OK. I can understand that!

Man, now you are REALLY ALL RIGHT WITH ME!!! :D

I'm a Philly guy who lived in Bavaria for almost 15 years!!! I lived most of it in Erlangen. When I went over, I considered myself a Bayern fan, but after I learned what they were about, I looked for a new club. I got in to FCN for awhile and I still have a real soft spot for them, but I didn't like the way the management of "Der Club" ran it into the ground and I didn't like a lot of the FCN fans I met at the Frankenstadion. But as I said, I still have a real soft spot for FCN.

I discovered BVB while watching them play FCN in a 0-0 draw. I had already seen the team on TV and I was taken by the team's fighting spirit and finally seeing the BVB fans live just swept me away. I became a BVB fan that day and I never looked back.

However, we relegated FCN with a 4-1 win at the Westfalenstadion on the final day of that season. I wasn't there for that, but while I was happy for my new "love", I was sad for the FCN fans and my friend came back cursing me because of the way the BVB fans taunted the crying FCN fans.

It's the only time I was almost ashamed to consider myself a BVB fan.

I'm glad to say I got over it!

Some of my FCN buddies never have..... ;)

This is off subject, but I was curious about a couple of side comments about Bayern.

What exactly is the deal with hating Bayern because of how they do things?

well, they're just the biggest fish in the tank, the annoying a+ student everybody hates, the evil empire buying all the talent your own team has got (podolski?)...i also hate their paternalizing attitude (now they wanna turn cologne into their "farm team") and the aggressive way their push for a greater share from the bundesliga's tv contracts. finally: their fans suck! no comparison with passionate fans like the ones of bvb or cologne, really!
do you want more?

Bayern and Schlacke are just the Dark Side .... the Sith Lords of Soccer if you want so .... Schlacke because of the normal Ruhr Rivalry and Bayern because the destroy soccer from within ... all their arrogancy etc.
