I made this thread to see how much everyone is planning on spending this summer. I'm going with my two bros and parents from June 17-July 10. We haven't made any reservations just yet, but we plan on spending a total of about $18,000-$19,000 for the whole trip (airplane tickets, hotels, travel, food, souvenirs, etc.).

What about the rest of you? How long is your stay and how much do you think you'll spend?

I'm already at almost $10,000 for an apartment for a month (June 8-July 11), airfare (first class baby!), tickets to many games, and rental car...and that's only my half because I'm travelling with my brother. I'm also planning on saving another $5k-$10k to take with me for incidentals. I figured that this will be my once-in-a-lifetime soccer experience, I might as well go all-out. See ya in Deutschland!

The only cost I will have to worry about will be the beer at the Fanfest.

flights.
London(Stansted) - Frankfurt(Hahn) £16
Berlin - London(Gatwick) £55

4 tickets £190 (South Korea v Togo, Portugal v Iran, Angola v Iran, Ukraine v Tunisia)

6 nights in Frankfurt £419 (really hoping to find something cheaper)
2 nights in Cologne £87
2 nights in Berlin £116

Still to book somewhere near Leipzig, possibly Halle, approx £90

That's almost £1000.
Add on food, beer, train tickets, day trips, etc and I'll probably add £500 - £1000 more.

Still, if I didn't spend it on beer and football I'd only squander it.

Why do you all add 1000$ and more on beer and so on?? Its not THAT expensive... A Beer about 2EUR-2,50, i mean you would drink 500-400 Beers?

Till now i have only 2 Tickets for the Round of Sixteen in Stuttgart...But Cat 1... Im looking forward to get Cat 3 in Frankfurt Quarterfinals and maybe for the semifinals/Final... thath would be ca. 600EUR on tickets...

For the car...nothing, my dad drives  but were living near stuttgart

I'm planning on more like 4E, or about $5...seeing as how I'll be there for 2 weeks and a typical night of heavy drinking for me involves 15-20 beers, $1000 isn't out of the realm of possibility

I'm looking at about $2500, but I got the plane tickets as a Christmas gift so really about $32-3300.

This thread scares me! I didn't get a great deal on Airfare and I bought 6 tickets for the Group Stage from Razorgator. So I'm already into it about 6 grand. Luckily, I got free places to stay in Frankfurt and in Prague. But, then again I expect the wife to break the bank buying Italian shoes, etc. I'm hoping to keep the whole thing under 10 grand, but only time will tell.

A most rightous and excellent sentiment from our fine furry friend.

I'll get in my 3 weeks for under $6k all together. All depends on how many tix i can find. 18 days of a campervan is my highest cost. Kind of like a turtle with a home on my back but it gives me a lot of versatility and mobility. The only two cities that i don't plan on being in are Hamburg and Hanover.

I managed to almost halve my Frankfurt hotel costs after switching hotel, twice as it happens.

I really can't urge enough that if you haven't booked anywhere to stay then book up as soon as you can - everywhere is booking up really fast. Of course if you are happy paying 150 euros a night you still have plenty of choice, but even those places are going to go.

Even if you don't know where you'll be because you are hoping to get extra tickets, pick somewhere to stay as a fallback option just in case you don't get any extra tickets at all. You can, after all, cancel the room if you do get lucky with the tickets.

tell her not to go shopping until saturday afternoon.

"what honey? The shops were shut Saturday afternoon? Who'd have thought it? You can go tomorrow instead. What? They're shut tomorrow too? Man, that's a real shame".
