We have to win this. With a hard run in we have we've got to take 3 points of the bottom of the table teams. We don't want to be the victems of the "first team to lose at home to Sunderland in premiership since December 2002"

We can't take Sunderland lightly, they gave us a really tough game at the Lane and have got nothing to lose now so will just play to win.

Have you been watching Sunderland this season Colm? You make it out to be a six-pointer???

Sunderland 0 - 3 Spurs.

Sunderland are without their best player Dean Whitehead. Also unavailable to them is their best defender, Stephen Wright and Steve Caldwell.

They haven't had such a poor selection to choose from all season. I expect a rout.

In my eyes its another game where i have mental fits watching it. I've got to stop taking 3 sugars in my tea, you agree with me on the last part?

That we have to win this?

Of course.

Well of course, and if you are putting the kettle on, i'll have a milky tea with no sugar.

Cheers.

*makes cup of tea to Jaymes*

ah back on topic

----------------------------Robinson----------------------------

-----Stalteri-------Dawson---------King-----------Young-Pyo------

----Jenas---------Murphy---------Carrick----------Lennon-------

-------------------Defoe-------------Keane-----------------------

Though not sure if Davids will be fit but if he isn't i reckon the team will look like that and i think he could give Murphy the start.

If Mido is back then i think he'll start him with Defoe so it could look like if Davids is fit the team could look like

---------------------------Robinson-----------------------------

-----Stalteri--------Dawson----------King----------Young-Pyo----

-----Jenas---------Murphy----------Carrick-------Davids-------

------------------------Mido---------Defoe--------------------

He could opt to keep Murphy on the bench and put Davids in the middle and keep Lennon on the right and if Egypt lose today then i think he'll start Mido along with Defoe.

LOL! Are you one of those guys who goes to the cornershop wearing a helmet, kneepads and a gas mask "just in case" something terrible happens along the way?:D If you are, dont let me stop you - after all, you don't want to be the first person to get hit by a poisonous gas-ejecting asteroid while on the way to buy a pack of crisps...:D

Jokes aside, I appreciate the need for modesty and the desire not to oversell our team, but such an introduction to every single game... Would be nice to see some optimism and belief! We're 4th in the premiership for crying out loud. As Poshspur mentioned, Sunderland will be without 3 of their starters. On our side, we may well have 3 starters back (Davids, Lee, Mido). Now call me overconfident, but I think we should do fine.

And trust me, if we do end up losing (yikes!) it will have nothing to do with a few posts on a message board, so lighten up! Spurs to win 72-0

Julio Arca is their best player by a long, long way.

I really enjoy your posts, mate, it's just that they could do with a little less modesty and caution now and again!

On another point, this is the team we may play against The Arca Boys;

It is of my opinion that even if Mido is back, he will be warming the PVC. Davids is back. I know this as he was at our event (Tony Robbins - Unleash the Power Within) at the Excel Centre, Docklands and a lot of my work buddies spoke to him.

I would also leave Kelly in at left-back, as I feel he played ever so well against Charlton.

I'd go with that formation. Murphy on the bench with Mido would be good. I also agree about leaving Kelly in - he played well.

I'm glad he did well. I know I've never mentioned this before, but I don't rate Lee at all.

I hope Kelly stays in the side till the end of the season as he's not as gung-ho as Lee is.

We have to win all our games. On paper this looks nailed on, but that's not always the case.

I want us to win, i'll be sitting in my chair watching to make sure we do. I like Stephen kelly and hope he stays too, he's done well.

Oops, sorry I forgot this was a soccer-only site, as evidenced by this post:

On another note, I'm sorry but Kelly is cr@p. He may survive the Sunderland game if Jol keeps him on, but he'll fold at the first real challenge. He was ok against Charlton, but only because he had nowt to do. But he still managed to lose the ball almost every time he went forward. He may well be good enough for the premiership eventually, but not right now. Plus, I hate moaners.

Lee needs to effing learn how to cross with his left foot and also needs to work on his positioning, but he is still a far superior player to Kelly. And Stalteri stays above Kelly imo because of his physical presence and the improvements he's shown going forward.

It is of my opinion that even if Mido is back, he will be warming the PVC.
Hmmm. Maybe, but I doubt it. Unless tiredness/injury is a factor, Jol will always play Mido. Though we did well against Charlton, playing with one big and one small striker is still his tactic of choice. Jol has had plenty of time to experiment with different forward lines in practice, and if after all this time he still prefers Mido, one good game (against so-so opposition) is not going to change his mind. If anything, Keano might get a rest while Defoe starts.

I am cautiously optimistic, as always. Its just that with Spurs, nothing is a dead cert, and we have a habit of shooting ourselves in the foot when the time comes to stand up and be counted.

I am very sure that Mido, fit or not, will start on the bench against Sunderland.
