Saw this today and I can't much say that I'm surprised. 400 tickets to each game works out to be many, many thousands of pounds. Whenever a club is in "financial crisis", perks are the first thing to go... Stunned Manchester United employees have been told that they must pay for their Carling Cup Final tickets for the first time. The bombshell delivered by chief executive David Gill via an internal memo, informs the 4oo Old Trafford staff that free tickets - once one of the biggest perksof working for a successful club - will no longer be available. Instead the irate workers have been invited to buy two tickets for the final against Wigan Athletic on Febuary 26 And the customary free travel to finals has also been scrapped. Safe to say that the Glazer family, who own the club, are not too popular right now among the people they employ.'
