Taking Chelsea out of the CL last year was pretty big, did you miss that one? I mean whether it was in the Prem or CL it was STILL Chelsea! I beleive that Juve and AC Milan, although not in the Prem are at least as big and powerfull as manure or chavski anyday. We've been unlucky seriously. This game is very cruel at times, we beat manure up and down old trafford a few weeks ago and in a free kick, lost it, we are rightfully the third best club in the prem right now and I think that's great. Last year we ended up 5th, we had to win the CL and have them change the rules to let us back in, this year there will be no doubt where we belong. We've been a vastly improved club this year, we just happened to have our let down happen against the big names. Just wait, I think that a good trouncing of the addicks away will do us good this weekend and we'll be back to where we were a month ago. I can tell you this, manure will not be playing for the FA Cup this year!!

Change is a process. I wouldnt worry too much over Rafa's record vs ManU and Chelski in the PL. Nobody . . and i mean nobody. . would have predicted we'd be Champs of Europe again within one season, and be playing the quallity of football at the back and the midfield after such a short time under his leadership.
Our finishing and wingplay on the right are the final pieces of the rafalution, but so far, its impressive as hell.
There have been hiccups along the way to be sure, but that is in any new situation. Still, we bested Juventus, Chelsea and AC Milan last year - arguably the top 3 teams in the world. And it appears that this team is really capable of improving. . not bad thing to say about a team in 3rd/2nd, eh?

Dude, chelski...I don't have time to babysit you because you're bored and mommy let you use the computer all by yourself.
Go away and celebrate your hard earned victory with other Chelsea fans like a full grown adult.

By Mellor... remember how many injuries we had then? ;)
It takes time. LFC is doing very well, thanks to Benitez.

... and the last word from a former Anfield great, Alan Hansen writing in the Telegraph (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtml?xml=/sport/2006/02/06/sfnhan06.xml) In the long term, Liverpool look the likeliest team to run Chelsea closest over the next few seasons, though that will be fiercely disputed at Old Trafford.
However, as he returned from London what would have worried Benitez is that Liverpool have picked up one point from their four Premiership matches against Chelsea and Manchester United.
That is a complete reversal of his first season at Anfield, where Liverpool's greatest difficulty was dealing with the mediocre sides. This year they have done so beautifully and then run into trouble against the top two. That is how building a team works - you solve one problem and then you're struck by another.

I'm not one to make excuses, but let's put this into perspective: we are in 3rd place in the EPL, with a great chance of overtaking ManU for the 2nd spot, still alive in the FA Cup, and have a favorable schedule in the CL. We've played (I believe) 41 games in all competitions. That is a brutal schedule, yet we're still in the thick of things in two tournaments.
Oh, we're also reigning champions of Europe. :p

Under Benetiz. Yet Hope This Changes In FutureButchery of the English language and punctuation aside (I should talk) brooklynred does have a valid point. Whatever his motives!
This has been on my mind as well and I'm sure Rafa's. In fact Rafa recently pointed out how we've done (very) well in Europe and not as well as we should have in the Prem.
We're currently in 3rd place, if and I say "if" we can win those games in hand and hold steady we will finish second. That won't be too shabby for Rafa's second season of a building a team despite not winning against the top clubs. (and some of the lower ones as well...)
We have a lot of hope for the next couple of seasons, Chelsea seemed to have topped out and are having a lot of one goal wins and draws that could have swung the other way. United aren't the team they 'should be' despite having a formidable pair up front. (Despite my personal opinions of them, they do score goals.) The gooners "Are not having the season they hoped they'd have" (Doncha love it when anouncers use that expression?) They are not going to stay down there though, they're too good a team.
We need to be able to sign a couple of the right players and trade a couple that haven't worked out for us. That's the way the team builds, just because we sign a guy that looks great for another team doesn't automatically mean he'll fit with ours. </Joseme>
Other than that....Let's get behind Barca for their next CL match...:D

Fair enough, but I can't think of another peron I'd rather be at the helm.
