Fowler Enjoys Winding up United Fans
Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler has said he enjoys winding up Manchester United fans. The former Manchester City star also was not happy with Gary Nevilles celebrations in front of the Liverpool fans.
Fowler said: "Putting up six fingers to the United fans would be the perfect response to any more abuse because I know it would really wind them up - I would love it to happen.
"I know I got a bit of stick for showing them five fingers when I scored for City in the derby, but people should realise that it's just my way of giving it them back.
"United fans hate me. They sing some things about me that aren't nice, so I enjoy having a go back at them when I score.
"I don't plan my celebrations before the game. They just happen.
"I remember scoring in a Manchester derby a couple of years ago. Porto had just knocked United out of the Champions League and Jose Mourinho had ran down the touchline, so I did my version of that. They all knew what I was getting at.
"All I will say is that when I did those celebrations it was at the end of the ground I had scored at.
"It was totally different to what Gary Neville did against Liverpool the other week. He hadn't scored and yet he ran 60 yards to celebrate in front of our fans.
"It's part of football. Neville loves United and wants to wind up Liverpool fans. I love Liverpool and so I want to wind up United's fans.
"But even so, I don't see any similarity between the two incidents."
so we can expect a FA charge against him soon right:rolleyes:
