If the Toffees are to have realistic hopes of finishing in the Top 6, the key will be for them to do well in the next 6 games, all of which are winnable.

Everton's last 8 games of the season are a killer, as we play all of the other Top 6 teams during that stretch.

1/28.....#17 Bolton..............(A)
2/1.......#12 Leeds..............(H)
2/8.......#11 Charlton...........(A)
2/22.......#8 Southampton....(H)
3/1.......#13 Middlesbrough..(A)
3/15.....#20 West Ham........(H)

3/23.......#1 Arsenal............(A)
4/6........#3 Newcastle.........(H)
4/12.....#19 West Brom.......(A)
4/19.......#6 Liverpool...........(H)
4/21.......#4 Chelsea............(A)
4/26.....#14 Aston Villa........(H)
5/3.......#15 Fulham............(A)
5/11.......#2 Man Utd...........(H)

I agree. 12 points should be realistic from that lot. Then 9 from the final 8 games and hey presto 60 points and we're in Europe.

Also, I should know this but forget every year, what are the League Cup implications? Both Man U and Liverpool will qualify for Europe by other means so will that mean the next highest placed team in the league go into Europe? 7th place?

Will Wayne be back for Leeds or Charlton?

Newcastle Liverpool and ManU at home so there is your 9 points but I think we can get more from the rest than just those 9 points.

They're off to a good start with the win today.

Leeds
Charlton
Southampton
Middlesbrough
West Ham

Theres 5 games where we can win if we play well. I think we will see something like

3 wins 1 draw 1 loss from that lot (hard to win 6 straight), but that is pretty good because we would be consistent.

We only have 1 big gun away from home in Arsenal, so that game is like a wild card, we win amazing, if we lose, no harm.

Lets beat crap teams like our next 5, and we will be alright.

Middlesbrough worries me away from home, but weve been ok there in the past, and they just lost at home 5-2 to ASTON VILLA.

Times look good anyway for the Toff's

They're two for two in wins. They did well to rebound from a poor first half to come out and win the Leeds game.

So far so good!

First, a 2-1 away win over Bolton
Today, a 2-0 home win over Leeds

Next up: Sat Feb 8 at Charlton

I think we can get 10 points from our next four matches, Boro the only game that poses a problem but a point there would be nice.

I've just gotten FSW and I can now finally see everton play in their upcoming match against Southampton. Should be a good game. I believe its a lunch time kick off. Is it at Goodison?

Yes, the Southampton match is at home and starts at noon, British time. It should be a good one.

The Saints are sitting in 9th place right now with 39 pts, and really would like to pick up at least one point against the Toffees to keep their hopes of playing in the UEFA Cup alive.

Yup, will be nice to see the boys live again.

vw, not sure I like the picture of picture of Rooney in a RED shirt. I know it's England but as we all know, he's blue through and through.

I plan on switching to a Rooney in blue avatar when I can find a good photo to use. As you're probably aware, Rooney isn't exactly the most photogenic guy out there, and I've yet to find a shot of him in blue where he didn't have a-face-only-a-mother-could-love look to him.

Plus, using one of the England/Australia match photos is a nice way to recognize his accomplishment as being the youngest person ever to get a cap for England.

Plenty to choose from mate:

I'm working on an animated gif of Rooney's goal against Arsenal. If I ever get round to being a member I will use it. If not I'll just post it here. Trouble is it's a long clip that when it's converted to gif format takes ages to run and creates a big file that takes ages to download. May have to phase out a few screens and decrease the pixel number. Soon though i hope.

Anything less than 7 and Moyes will run the riot act.
