The Galaxy do have an international or former international at every position on the field..
Everyone has an international cap including the player who was voted 3rd best at this last World Cup.

You really have to question the rankings, especially since Independiente is the highest ranked team from the Americas. I think Toluca, Corithians, & America are better than the Diablos Rojos del Avellaneda. The Galaxy could be up there. I would like to see them play against some of these teams & see the results. I think the Galaxy can hang w/ Boca at the moment. & if you think I am high, then pass the blunt to the left side.

Not too mention in 6 months the Galaxy will have the best venue in MLS.

I have to agree, but only because I see the team that's last on the list of "best" club teams in the world - Sydney Sharks! I'm afraid that pretty much top to bottom of the EPL, La Liga, Serie A and the Bundesliga, not to mention Mexico, Argentina, Brazil and yes, MLS - are all much better than the Sydney Sharks. But it is nice to see that of all teams from the USA, the Galaxy has got the most clout.

These rankings are about as meaningless as something could be. I'm sure Zamalek of Egypt is the 46th best club in the world too.

yea but you can almost say the same about dc united too...the starting line-up next year...will include internationals at every position but two...and of those two...kovalenko will eventually be capped when he's a citizen....and santino will be capped too after the u-20's.

also...does it really matter when those "internationals" are WAY past their prime...i.e. lalas and cienfuegos.

An international at every position only means something when your holding a a trophy over your heads.

ala - The Los Angeles Galaxy

It means nothing when you suck.

ala - D.C. United

The rankings will mean something when Europe decides to play the Americas seriously.

I think the Galaxy are a tough football team, actually. They've been IMO the most consistent MLS team through the league's young existence.

However this ranking isnt' very logical -- what happened to Liverpool?

Bro, did LiverCrap just lose to a D1 side??? Bro, they are horrible. It goes to show that the long ball philosophy just doesn't cut in this day & age. Get a grip!!!

Yes, Liverpool right now is not at the height of their game. IMO, it may be time for a change upstairs. But do would you rate Galaxy and some of those other teams as superior to them? I'm far from a LIverpool fan, but realistically...

Unless they all play one another, who's to say how things would pan out. Meaningless rankings as far as I'm concerned.

Getting the Galaxy and another MLS representative in the Libertadores would be the way to push right now. Perhaps the Crew because they won the U.S. Open Cup. (Had they lost to LA, then they and the Revs could have had a playoff to see who would go.)

I'd kill to see the good MLS teams play River, Boca, the Mexicans, etc., in games which would "count."

Well, this weekend you can see the MLS XI versus the Argentine La Primera XI. The FC Champions' Cup should have some tasty match-ups in the 1/4 finals. Look for America vs. San Jose to be a tight fought affair. Necaxa vs. the Galaxy shouldn't dissappoint either.
