This was posted prior to the crash and we had some good discussions about it.
One thing that I had posted was what division each club was from and where they currently reside in the standings. For each team I show the division that they're from along with their current position within the table. P = Premiership, C = Conference, 1d, 2d & 3d = 1st, 2nd & 3rd division respectively.
1 Leicester City (1d-2) v Bristol City (2d-2)
2 Scunthorpe (3d-10) or Carlisle (3d-22) v Leeds United (P-16)
3 Gillingham (1d-16) v Sheffield Wednesday (1d-24)
4 Chelsea (P-3) v Middlesbrough (P-9)
5 Ipswich Town (1d-18) v Morecambe (C-5)
6 Preston North End (1d-14) v Rochdale (3d-15)
7 Manchester City (P-12) v Liverpool (P-5)
8 Shrewsbury Town (3d-18) v Everton (P-4)
9 AFC Bournemouth (3d-3) v Crewe Alexandra (2d-5)
10 Plymouth Argyle (2d-12) v Dagenham & Redbridge (C-11)
11 Cambridge Utd (3d-7) v Millwall (1d-17)
12 Bolton Wanderers (P-19) v Sunderland (P-17)
13 Darlington (3d-16) v Farnborough Town (C-9)
14 Walsall (1d-18) v Reading (1d-6)
15 Fulham (P-14) v Birmingham City (P-13)
16 Stoke City (1d-22) v Wigan Athletic (2d-1)
17 West Ham United (P-20) v Nottingham Forest (1d-3)
18 Charlton Athletic (P-11) v Exeter City (3d-20)
19 Sheffield United (1d-5) v Cheltenham Town (d2-23)
20 Aston Villa (P-15) v Blackburn Rovers (P-10)
21 Cardiff City (2d-3) v Coventry City (1d-12)
22 Wolverhampton Wanderers (1d-7) v Newcastle United (P-6)
23 Southampton (P-8) v Tottenham Hotspur (P-7)
24 Norwich City (1d-4) v Brighton & Hove Albion (1d-23)
25 Arsenal (P-1) v Oxford United (3d-9)
26 Grimsby Town (1d-21) v Burnley (1d-13)
27 West Bromwich Albion (P-18) v Bradford City (1d-19)
28 Rotherham United (1d-8) v Wimbledon (1d-15)
29 Brentford (2d-6) v Derby County (1d-11)
30 Blackpool (2d-11) v Crystal Palace (1d-10)

I think there are some matches of particular interest.
Some teams that are hunting promotion get shots at teams from the next league up.
In EPL vs. 1st Division teams, Nottingham Forest gets to match up against relegation bound West Ham and Portsmouth gets a taste of the big boys vs. Man. United.
In 2nd Div vs. 1st Div teams, top spot Wigan gets relegation bound Stoke City. 2nd spot Bristol City gets to see how it matches up against Leicester City and 3rd spot Cardiff gets Coventry.
Three Conference teams are left: Morecambe gets 1st Division Ipswitch Town, Crewe Alexandra gets 2nd Division Bournemouth and Farnborough Town gets 3rd Division Darlington. None of them are at home.
Another interesting tidbit... There were 20 Premiership, 24 First Division, 8 Second Division, 9 Third Division and 3 Conference teams in the draw. That meant there was a 30% chance that an EPL team would draw another EPL team. However, 60% of the EPL teams drew another EPL team.

I think because Wigan is leading the Div 2 that they will beat Stoke City who are struggling. The other two Div 2 teams will have it harder because they are playing two teams that have been doing fairly well this season. Forest is also playing well too. They may beat West Ham especially if David Johnson is on target. Portsmouth over Man U would be great.

Too bad about Wigan. Stoke City have played fairly well in the last couple of weeks and I just missed that. Go Shrews. Good performance by the Saints though. Surprised that Brentford and Rochdale won. Cardiff always plays tough even though Coventry is a team that is doing fairly well a division above them.

does anyone know the name of the song setanta played at half time of the man. utd. v. portsmouth f.a. cup tie over the montage of former f.a. cup winners?
it sounded like stone temple pilots but i don't think it was. the lyrics included something like "I'm free" and "I'm alive."
i've heard the song before but don't know its title or the group's name...
thanx.

I simply can not believe that they showed the Liverpool v Man City match which was fairly boring instead of the Wolves/ Magpies match was scheduled as the match to be shown on PPV. Bad choice.

Liverpool always sells more on PPV than Newcastle and they also are unable to see the future and know which match will be better. They should have known, though, that the game with the bigger underdog (Wolves) likely would have been more interesting. We all know how unexciting Liverpool has been lately.

Sure they were unable to tell which game was better but with the hour and a half they could see that the Liverpool match was a dull one. I mean certainly with Newcastle playing they knew that they would have played more offensively. Anyway, it was listed for several weeks as being that game. I have one reservation having this match and that I had read that Wolves were a little short in the attack right now and I thought that Newcastle was just going to have more chances and probably win. Not that Wolves don't have a good defense but still Newcastle has Alan Shearer. So I am a little surprised at the result. Man City was disappointing and I had predicted that Pool would beat Newcastle last week based on their performance against Arsenal but that pitch was just horrible. So they really haven't picked up in a while except for their performanc against the Gunners. Bravo to Wolves. Anyway, it's good to see them winning again. Now if only they had Billy Wright and Steve Bull.

I was just told that even though the Crystal Palace v Liverpool match will be listed as the 11:00 match for PPV they will still show the Man U-West Ham match. What a bummer. That won't be close.

I agree with you on that one. Last time Man U and West Ham met in the FA Cup, there was plenty of controversy.
