I have listed some of the obvious choices. (feel free to give me a hard time if I left out an obvious one, but I only had 16 choices). Let's see if we can reach a consensus on who was the best ever.

A couple of points:

1) I don't want to base it just on who scored the most goals. We can all look that up. I want to look at other factors also, to find the best overall, based on where and when he played, his overall skills, his international contributions, how many goals he scored etc.

2) I want to limit it to true penalty area centerforwards. Great goalscorers like Maradona, Di Stefano, Sivori, Kempes and other great ones of those characteristics don't qualify because they are not true centerforwards.

So, go ahead and pick the best.

Damn! I listed Artime twice. I hope a mod can take one of the Artimes out. Maybe we can add Crespo instead, to have a present day active player in the list.

Y Valdano?

As I remember, Valdano was more confortable playing wide on the left, that is why I didn't consider him a centerforward.

I've got such a great pick for ASF in his draft..................

As far as the poll, I'd take Kempes.

Feel free to send me a PM and tell me who it is. I'll let you know if I was considering him.

As far as Kempes, I didn't put him in the poll because he was a player most comfortable playing withdrawn, as an attacking mid or withdrawn forward. (For example in 78 Luque was the centerforward for Argentina.)

I tried to make a poll of only pure penalty area strikers, although with some of the real old timers it is possible I might have mistakenly included a player of other characteristics. (I am not sure about Cherro, for example).

I gave Sanfilippo a vote, since no one came close to him in his era. But only because I knew Bati wasn't gonna need any help :D.

Ok, I sent you my reply. I didn't want to post it here, since it reveals much of my drafting stategy and some of the other drafters are lurking.

(Right Teso? :D)

i voted for batistuta... i miss seeing him play i remember back in the day when he used to shine all the time... the late years of his career were kind of dark but he will always be remembered for what he was... the best FW argentina has had in a while!
