When I first bought my manias, they were very comfortable the first time I played in them and needed little break in, but I've heard people say they soak their Kangaroo leather boots in warm water then wear them. what is the correct way to do this? and why do you do it?

Thanks

Modern shoes are designed to be comfortable right away. I wouldn't do anything special besides using a good leather conditioner (like the roo brand stuff).

I know people that wear them in the shower, soak them in water and all kinds of other stuff.

I try to get boots that fit the shape of my foot perfectly and then there is not much needed to do to break them in after that other than train in them before you wear them in a match.

Most people buy boots on looks, gimicks, and what pro's they see wearing them and often they don't fit them well at first so it takes a while to "break them in" and change the shape of the leather.

Buying for a perfect fit is the best way to go even more so these days since microfiber is the big thing and it doesn't strech.

To measure a perfect fit look for how it feels in the heel, and the forefoot(front of the boot just behind your toes), just standing in the store is not enough, wear the boots around your house and go through the range of motions you use striking the ball( lighter in the house than on the feild) and feel how it comes off and make sure you are comfortable wearing that shoe.

Touching the ball in tranning with the boots and then treating them with a good leather conditioner(mink oil, Chelsea leather food) should be the best way to go, make sure the boot is clean before applying leather food though, if you do wet the boots DON"T DRY THEM BY HEAT LET THEM DRY ON THEIR OWN, if you heat dry them they will shrink and harden causing the leather to crack, the cracking will happen if they get wet and dirty and dry that way also so amke sure you clean your boots and take care of them.

If they do get wet, stuff lots of paper towels inside to help them keep their shape and put lots of leather conditioner in them.
