Alright Guys and Girl... The fiance and I are looking to go to Greece for our honeymoon in the beginning of September.. We were thinking of 2 nights in Athens ( I have to see the Acropolis and all the ancient sites, she has no interest) then 4 nights each on Santorini, and Mykonos.

Have any of you been there that can reccomend hotels, restaurants, things to do, etc....

One of my co-workers is Greek. I'll try to get some information from him and get back to you.

I just lost a big response to Sapphire and some suggestions on what to do in Amsterdam. Watch this space and I will try to fix it later.

I hate when that happens. What I do now is highlight my entire post and copy it before submitting. I do it every time now, so that I don't actually throw the laptop across the room.

What I did: Got dragged around art museum(s) and Anne Frank House by random girl. :(

What my friend did: Rented a bike and cycled to Edam.

What we did: Cannabis College, Heineken Experience, Sex Museum, tours, Red Light banter, football... went on late night boat tour with magic shrooms.

I'll get back to you with hotels, restaurants, etc., but my friend strongly recommended visiting Crete. He also stated that four nights on Mykonos may be too much as you won't be able to sleep at all. Not certain of what the wife is going to want to do, and we all know that she'll be calling the shots, but he thinks Mykonos on your honeymoon is not the right call.

Thanks... I'll have to take that into consideration....Why did he say Mykonos isn't the right call for a honeymoon??? I've heard it has a party reputation but figured since we will be there in September after all the Euros are off holiday it might be a bit more peaceful..Did he say anything about Santorini???

He is very positive about Santorini.

Santorini and Mykonos are both among the most beautiful islands in the world. And therein lies the problem, at least if you want to have a nice, peaceful honeymoon--they're both loaded with tourists, locals looking to take advantage of tourists, etc. There are other Greek islands which are much more peaceful. Not that you shouldn't spend a couple of days on the bigger, more populated ones, just saying that it certainly won't be very serene.

Berlin is overrated. It may become great some years down the road, but right now for every great thing about it, there is also something bad.
Dresden is a great city even when it's slightly flooded.
Prague is everything you want from any city you visit and then some. I'll be back tom.

Does anyone happen to know the distance between Paddington station in London and Victoria station? Distance meaning tube distance and/or time therein.

About 15 minutes on the circle line. I assume they are about 3.5km apart, but the tube isn't direct. Don't quote me on any of this though.

if that long.

If you don't have a tour-guide and aren't lazy (the case when Achtung and I went to London) you'll find it very easy to get around once you've got a tube map.

National Rail. That's pretty much the best way to get around Britain in general. Just go to any of the major Tube stations in London, and they should have a National Rail ticket office.

There's a huge number of options, including whether you want to return on the same day (which I believe is cheaper) and how far in advance you book. I think we paid something like £50 for a round-trip (return) ticket, and it takes like 2.5 to 3 hours to get there, depending on stops and the like.
