Any of you guys play any instrument?

Me? Ive been playing guitar for about 2 years now, on and off. Dont know much theory though, but like they say, the best guitarists learned on their own. And thats exactly what Im doing. Ive written a few songs here and there but due to my lack of budget I havent been able to purchase the right equipment to actually record something. Man, I need a job. Anyway, Im looking forward to learning bass over the summer break, but like I said, my budget is very limited (any donations would be appreciated :D ) But yea, my main influences are.

Omar (the Mars Volta)
Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead)
Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin)
Stephan Carpenter (Deftones)
and...some dead guy.

I was starting to learn acoustic and was kind of embarassed with all the wrong notes I was hittings. I then decided to try electric so I can use my headphones :D. Never got to it.

Start with some easy songs first, like Beethovens 5th symphony. Thats an easy song. In fact, that was the first song that I learned. Do you know how to read tabs?

No I could make it. I thought you might want to do the honors, since you are such a gamer.

Maybe I'll get to it later

Not just anyone can play the maracas, it takes a real genius ;) :o

That reminds me. I remember a family freind of our once took me, my brother, and a freind to play some instruments. I played the congas. My freind played the piano, and my brother played...........

The CowBell! The greatest instrument of them all!

man, i would love to be in a salsa orchestra. although i love music, i can't play worth a schitt...
but i got lots of buddies in bands that range from rock to jazz.
this colombian dude that i grew up with plays the piano in a band that plays al over the tri-state area. they really get their schitt off. the singer's rican and sings pretty good.
the only thing i'd probably be best to play is la campana (the cow bell that you hear in the salsa songs)...

great thread, by the way.

I played the tuba in middle school. No, seriously.

If I didn't have the dorkiest instrument of all-time, I probably would have stuck with it through high school.

I bought an electro-custic guitar so I can learn to play both of them but havent actually gotten around it, the only thing I can play is the Godfather theme.

I play guitar, acoustic mostly. My main influence is radiohead. I love mostly british rock. We should start a band. I could sing a little. I can't play 1st guitar, I can play 2nd rhythm guitar more.
